All,
As you may know, my boss and friend Miguel is deployed in Iraq (Bagdad). I don't know exactly what they call his job, but what his troup does is go ahead of everyone else to ensure that it is safe. You can imagine that it is a VERY dangerous, stressful job. He has been there about 2 months his battalion has already had one killed in action and four wounded so severely that they had to be sent home.
I asked him what I can send to him to help him out. Maybe I could send something to help relieve some stress. In typical Miguel fashion, he did not ask for anything for himself. He said that there are parts of Bagdad that make East St. Louis (for those of you familiar with the St. Louis area) look like Disneyland. The children have nothing. He would like to be able to give them a little something as they go through the streets of Bagdad
He requested balls, toys and candy that he can give to the children as he sees them on the street. He has requested deflated balls (soccer balls, kickballs, etc), toys and candy. Nothing expensive. Cheap, Dollar General, type of toys.
If any of you are interested in sending a Care Package to a soldier so that he can brighten a day in the life of a child, please keep Miguel in mind. Please contact me if you would like his address.
Thanks in advance!
