Title: A Little Norva Recap

lindagt - November 13, 2007 01:30 PM (GMT)
There's lots of pictures to tell the story - and the concert playlist was the same as always - but I'll share some tidbits that I remember.

Preshow - some fun, fun women with some doctored up jello - what was in those things?

Kelly's - when they called us in to see Elliott you would not believe how we dropped everything, drinks, food - on the table, chair, rail - wherever we were - stuff dropped out of our hands and we ran.

At the meet and greet - Elliott, Josh and some of TLG hung around with us - they were great! Thanks to the other etrainers who rescued me from my camera ineptitude to get me a good pic with the man.

At the concert - Josh was great, gave many ETrain shoutouts and many fine props to Elliott.

Chris Richardson was there - and I have to admit my opinion of him has increased - he slipped in trying to go unnoticed - he wore one of the Elliott Tshirts he is selling for charity - then proceeded to go up in the balcony and dance his a** off for all of Elliott's set.

Brandon videotaped the etrain enjoying the concert from his post on the balcony - hope that video surfaces someday B - hint, hint.

The Last Goodnight gave etrain a lot of shout outs too and like they have posted here - thanked us for taking them into the family.

Elliott did not wear a hat at all during the concert (for those keeping score) Or take of any articles of clothing - he just came out (cute as can be) and did his set. He did look tired, but I think that had a lot more to do with his best friends being in town with him for couple of days than any cold - LOL! But honestly, even though I could really tell his voice was tired - he still came out and absolutely killed on A Song for You.

We were standing on the rail next to the keyboard and Aaron was flirting and laughing with our crowd the enire set - In fact, so was Ely during TLG's set.

It was a great show - Elliott gives a great show no matter how strained his voice or how tired! And the place did seem packed. For those who estimated earlier - I agree at LEAST 500 and probably more downstairs and probably 150 on the balcony.

YAYYYYYYYY!!! Great recap hon!! I know it was a night so many of you will not soon forget....

well that is depending on how many of those little jello thingamajigs you all had..heheeeeee!! Bless E's heart for all that he gives, and does, when he maybe is not feeling at the top of his game. No matters, because we all know he comes out, as a winner;)

Can't wait to see more pics, and um..that video B? ;) xo

I heard you were all packed, because everyone kept trying to push toward the front of the stage. SRO cocnerts can be a pain. Were you the one that got pushed out of the way, and security had to be called? I heard a little about that.

I did get pushed out the the way but my buddies pulled me back up front. The security incident happened right behind me - but I don't really know what happened because I was focused on stage.

People were really pushing forward - they just can't get close enough to this guy!

Hmmm's now infamous GLD Pina Colada and Fuzzy Navel Jello Shot Recipes

Pina Colada
1 lg pkg Pineapple Jello (or 2 small)
2 Cups Tonic Water -- boiling
1/2 Cup Coconut Milk
1 Cup Rum
1/2 Cup cold Tonic Water

Fuzzy Navel
1 lg pkg Orange Jello (or 2 small)
2 Cups Tonic Water -- boiling
1 Cup Peach Schnapps
1/4 Vodka
3/4 Cup cold Tonic Water

Both recipes should make approx 35 shots -- depending on how deep you pour and how much you sample......

I'm in the process of uploading photos to photobucket. After they are all up, I'll recap, but I suspect most of the stories will already been told by then.

BTW Linda, I also have a decent pic of you and Elliott.

Great recap Linda. I'm glad somebody remembered what went on. I'm still trying to figure out why my arms and shoulders are sore. What did I do? :rotfl:

A video? Ruh roh...

Seriously though, I had the time of my life with some of the best people I've ever met. To my new friends here at the train - I love you. I mean it.

EC, that's pretty much how it went--we were all eating and left the food mid bite. During the sound check I was frantically searching my purse for mint gum and whew! found it.

It was nice seeing you again, Lindagt, and meeting other E-Trainers (and E-Train lurkers, spouses and family members) for the first time. I'm terrible about reading e-mail and didn't know we were added to the party for Kelly's until the last minute. Big thanks to all those who helped make the dinner and meet and greet possible. How did the jello shots come about? Is that a Richmond tradition? I'd never heard of those before.

Elliott was so nice to be sharing any of his time that day as he was obviously tired and under the weather but he was patient, attentive and accomodating to all.

I brought along my State Fair ticket stubs to be signed just in case he was signing anything. His first concert will always be his first but seeing how far he has come mastering stage performance and singing his own HIT songs my heart swelled with pride and joy for him. He nailed the majority of songs with such artistry and energy there was no other possible reaction than to scream and jump up and down. My husband keeps saying how much fun he had too. He said if he hadn't already liked Elliott before he would have loved him after seeing how great he was in person and in concert. There are many singers worthy of acclamation in art but few in heart.
