Title: Allentown Experience

I don't have near the story to tell like the rest of you guys but I wanted to recap my experience seeing Elliott for the first time since the Idol concert of course. We didn't get to meet him personally but just being in the same building was enough for me. We got there around 6:30, the bus was right in front of the club but there really wasn't any activity so we decided to go in and pick our spot for the night. We were about three rows back from the stage and it was absolutely aaawwwsome! I love the smaller shows where you can get right up there and feel like a part of it. I know the crowd wasn't as rowdy as it could have been but I think we were all mesmerized by him. I love the CD and have listened to it hundreds of times but Elliott LIVE is probably the best experience I have had seeing a performer EVER! That voice of his is MONSTROUS and the fact that he is only 29 and we have so many more years of looking forward to his music makes it even sweeter. My daughter and my friend came with me and they talked about it all the way home. They loved it as much as I did. There was a young girl standing next to me maybe 16 and when Elliott sang WFY and OW the tears were just rolling down her face and she kept fanning herself like OMG what am I doing but that is what he does. You just become consumed and that is what makes the difference between a good singer/performer and a great one. You can just feel him putting his whole heart and soul into his music. And, the band, oh the band, they were TERRIFIC! If you guys read these posts you are all absolutely GREAT musicians. You all looked like you were having the time of your lives and are really enjoying what you do. I have been around music my entire married life and working musicians are absolutely great to be around. We also loved Josh. He is one funny and talented guy! My daughter went home and downloaded some of his music. If he ever comes back to the Lehigh Valley solo we will definitely see him. TLG were also really good in a different kind of way. I did see the E-trainers in the front row but we were about 3 rows behind you to the right and there was no way I was able to push thru to meet you guys. Maybe next time. We didn't know about the Brew Works deal in the afternoon. The promotion for this show was really bad. The radio stations did not do a whole lot of on-air promoting. After talking about it at work yesterday we already recruited more people for next time. After standing in one spot for four and a half hours it was time for us to get our legs uncramped and try to walk out of the building to end one of the best nights EVER! Elliott never said anything about a M&G, he mentioned having family there and figured he would be spending time with them. Meeting Elliott is something I can look forward to for the next time. javascript:emoticon(':1word:')

Thanks for your recap! I'm glad you got to see this concert - and it seems to take several of them to finally get the meeting and the pictures, etc - but hey - who doesn't want to hear Elliott more than once?

I'm so glad that you guys enjoyed the concert. Yeah... there's nothing quite like seeing Elliott perform live - and his band is just incredible.

Like you, I'm just blown away by the fact that he's really only been singing AT ALL for less than 2 years and is only just beginning to tap his potential. We've got a LOT to look forward to.

And yes, it takes repeated concert attendance to ensure the hug/autograph, etc., but as Linda pointed out, who can complain about that??

Wonderful recap. Yes, Mesmerized... that's what they were. I was standing next to 2 girls that were seeing him the first time. They were smiling from ear to ear. Love the story about the young teen too.

I loved the concert so much, I said well if this is the last time... and then I said NAH! I need to hear him live more. They are all maturing so fast.

Loved your recap. Glad that you had a good time at the concert. Hopefully you'll get to meet Elliott at a future concert. My next chance won't be until 2008.

I won't see him again until 2008. I am so hoping when he comes to Pennsylvania again he plays at Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe, PA. It is an awesome place to see a show.
