Title: Elliott's Song: You Are The One

agahlee - November 15, 2007 05:15 PM (GMT)
Does anyone know why Elliott doesn't sing this song at his concerts? I read somewhere that it's the song he wrote about Jaime.

:elliottelliott: This song should be relesed as a single. It would be the wedding song of the decade!!!!!!!!It is such a wonderful love song..................

If anyone missed it in the news posts... it's being used by Ferrero commercial.

I also have a downloadable version, if anyone is interested or having problems viewing.

I just love that song.

Why isn't it a U.S. commercial? Hope it will be soon....

Wow -- what a coincidence -- I was just working on a tailored program workbook for Ferrero this week (they're taking a program at Disney Institute). I'll have to forward this to the program consultant/facilitator!!

I completely agree. I will be very disappointed if this song is not released - it is beautiful!

Just listening to it. YES, this should be the next single.

Couples and especially those planning weddings would love it; it's the perfect wedding song. :cndlelitdnr:

I'm just listening to the CD trying to decide which song(s) should be the next single(s).
I know it was discused several times but probably most people change their minds about it.
My choice now is You are the One.
There are several slow, romantic songs which become VERY popular (Hej There Delilah, Dreaming with the Brokem Heart). I think that YATO would have a big chance to become the next Monster Hit.
My second choice is Free. I love it. It makes me get up and dance (much like Alright).
But it's possible that OW still has a fututure and in January will start climbing the charts.

I love YATO- it has been and still is my favorite song.

I have always loved YATO, but I didn't figure it would get released as a single because the lyrics are so similar to One Word. I figured OW would get the attention because its produced by Stargate.

I have always thought the melody is so haunting...Oh, how I wish he would release this song. Do you think it's too personal?? Is that why he wouldn't release it? I think it would be a great testimony to his love for his girlfriend. I love Elliott singing anything! :awe:

ElliottisTrueBlue - December 22, 2007 04:48 AM (GMT)
I love the song, don't care that it's personal, I think it's lovely! After all, God only knows how many sappy songs that my favorite singer wrote for his wife and sang in concert (ahhh Paul, you heartbreaker :P )

movin2thabeet - December 23, 2007 01:35 AM (GMT)
I also continue to feel that YATO is a great song. It seems to me that it is more than a flash-in-the-pan kind of song that rises and falls quickly on the charts. I think it has the promise of real longevity, so it could help to sell more CDs and get Elliott more exposure. I think it would do really well on AC and maybe even country crossover stations, depending on which version is played. If it played primarily on AC, as I'd imagine it would, it probably won't become a "hit" like WFY. But, personally, I think it would do better on AC than OW as I feel it's a better overall song.

I'm still hoping for a multiple format release of a more upbeat song to Top 40 and Urban-leaning stations like MO and YATO to AC stations.

And BTW, I don't think a song can be too personal. The more vulnerability an artist shows, the more people respond.

However, as much as I love the song, I think it needs to be an upbeat song rather than a sappy ballad (he's had two of those for singles, we don't want him pigeonholed). That is one complaint about the debut, too many slow songs. But hey, there's always room for improvement and I'm hoping that he puts some faster songs on his sophomore album :)

Oh I'm hoping for some more upbeat songs on the second cd too!!! His slow stuff is great but Elliott can rock!!! I LOVE his upbeat stuff. I really, really loved his MCB duet with those horns! Elliott - you readin this?????

ElliottisTrueBlue - December 27, 2007 03:27 PM (GMT)
^^Totally agree! I mean, love the slow songs, they are gorgeous, but I love songs like Movin' On, Find a Way, Alright, and especially I'll Make You Dance that make you wanna roll down the car windows and jam out B)

I really did not want One Word to be his next single, to me Train Wreck would have been a hit. One Word does not really connect with people. I hope if he does release Train Wreck as his 3rd 4th single,

Movin, YATO is a beautiful, beautiful song that deserves to be heard more widely. It expresses sincere emotion that is missing from so many songs.

This is exactly what I hope happens. A multi-format single release. I don't know how expensive it is to do that, though. I'd love for TW or YATO to be released to AC or HAC and Movin On, I'll Make You Dance or Alright to be released to Top 40/Urban. Guess time will tell.
