Title: Proof That Elliott Was Indeed In Montreal Last Nig
Description: youtube video of him singing SFY

naberh - November 18, 2007 08:13 PM (GMT)
And a totally awesome version it is. Sounds like he was in top form last night. And I hope he stays that way cause I'm seeing him tommorow night here in Toronto!

Elliott singing in Montreal

And here's one more video from last night, just as awesome, of WFY. I like how he gets the audience to sing along.

And the goodies keep coming... I found here some photos of Elliott in Montreal:

Elliott in Montreal - photos

There's a pretty cute photo in there of Elliott looking like he's about to freeze into an icycle as he signs an autograph.

Hi there,

Wow, you guys act fast, heh. Those are my videos and pictures you pointed to and yes, Elliott was indeed in Montreal last night.

I got there with my friends about an hour before the doors opened and at one point, we saw Elliott through the glass doors frantically waving at us. It was a sweet moment.

It was my first time seeing him and I must say it was a wonderful night. Elliott seemed really energized and was singing with crazy passion, as always.

Setlist was as usual, but I believe he skipped I'm The Man, for an unknown reason. Every song sounded amazing and I cannot believe his voice hold on till the very last song. A Song For You was just magical and a great way to end the night. At one point during the night, someone yelled "God bless Donny Hathaway!" to Elliott's pleasure of course. The crowd was really into it and it just made for a great atmosphere all around. Elliott (along with Josh and Kurtis from TLG all mentioned how sad it was that the tour was coming to an end but that they were still having the time of their life. I believe it's Josh who said that if there is such a thing as "having too much fun," they were pretty damn close. It was great to see everyone's passion and love of music on stage.

After the show, a little mob of people crowded his tour bus while poor Elliott was trying to get inside cause it was freakin' cold. He told us he was going to be right out (even though he looked so tired and cold) and he eventually did. What a sweetie. He took the time to sign autographs and take pictures for everyone, and if I recall correctly from all the little squeals and huge smiles all around, he made a lot of people happy that night.

I have so more clips of songs from the night I might upload to YouTube soon enough.

For a first show in Montreal, I believe it was a success  Can't wait till he comes back!

Elliott's musical shout outs at Josh and TLG

Thanks for the little tidbits - we love every one! Glad it was a good show!

PoorMe - November 18, 2007 09:56 PM (GMT)
Thanks for the videos! It's really great to get a report from Montreal. I thought we might not hear a peep.

It's hard to believe the tour is almost over. What are we going to do with ourselves after that? I guess we have to just watch those videos over and over.

cursedhyphen - November 18, 2007 10:22 PM (GMT)
You're very welcome! I hope other people stop by and report as well. I think it's insane that he even came here in the first place. Usually, people stop by Vancouver and Toronto, but not Montreal. I mean, we have a really vibrant indie scene but I was genuinely surprised (but ecstatic!) to hear that Elliott was coming here.

I talked to Joonie (Elliott's keyboard player) after the show and apparently, the band had a really good time at the show and really enjoyed Montreal. It was pretty much everyone's first time here and they loved it. Trey (Josh's guitarist) even posted on his MySpace about how he adored Montreal. So great night all around for everyone :)

Yes, I think the videos are what's gonna keep us holding on and survive till the next tour :)

naberh - November 18, 2007 10:32 PM (GMT)
thanks so much, cursedhyphen for your report, and I hope you don't mind that I beat you to it, with regards to posting your videos and pics!

How big a crowd did he get in Montreal, would you say? I'm really curious to know.

I'm also real curious to see how big a turnout he gets in Toronto, but I'll find that out tommorow!

georgiafan1 - November 18, 2007 10:49 PM (GMT)
Cursedhyphen, Thank you very much for the great recap, pictures and videos. I'm glad that you had such a good time at the concert. Elliott sounded and looked great in the videos.

Welcome to E-Train.

:welcome:

Welcome hon, and so glad to hear what a wonderful time all the guys had in Montreal! Thank you so much for sharing, and to hear you say (or see the words you typed? lol) about him making a lot of people happy that night, well, it just wouldn't be an Elliott Yamin show if he didn't;) The man would be on his death bed and still signing autographs and taking pics I swear!! ;)

Efan2 - November 19, 2007 12:30 AM (GMT)
Welcome aboard cursedhyphen! Thanks for your recap, videos, and pictures. I was hoping someone would report from Montreal.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome, guys. I've been a supporter of Elliott since the AI days but I guess I never jumped on board the online E-train till now :)

And of course, I don't mind, naberh. I was commenting on how on track this train is ^_^ Hmm, as for the capacity, well the venue holds about 850 people at its full capacity but last night's show wasn't sold out nor were there any huge spaces of empty floor. Oh, and there was really no one up in the balcony. I don't know, I'm really bad at crowd number guessing, but I'd say about 350?

And yeah yellin4yamin, I was just amazed at how generous he was with his time last time. Definitely a generous guy.

Also, One Word is up.

Welcome to Etrain!! Thanks so much for the vids & sharing you experience. Elliott absolutely loves his fans, to a fault maybe, but we love him back tenfold!

Linda4Elliott - November 19, 2007 01:13 AM (GMT)
Thanks SO very much for the videos and pictures cursedhyphen (and Naberh :) ) and welcome to the etrain. I had a friend who attended last night, too and said that she was able to meet Elliott and have a picture with him. He is just a dear. Thanks for the details also, and it's so wonderful that there was a nice turnout for them in Montreal and they loved your city!

Thanks so much for your vids and pix! Glad to know that it was yet another fabulous concert experience for everyone. I got a kick out of reading Trey's posting (in French) indicating that he was ready to pick up and move to Montreal, it was so nice there! And Anton also posted on his blog about being thrilled to be there.

Sounds like y'all rolled out the welcome wagon in grand style! I bet they'll all be back as soon as they can work it out!!

Heh, yeah, the French was fun to read. Oh, would you mind telling me where Anton's blog is?

*fingers crossed* that they'll be back!

Actually, I just went back and saw that it was a bulletin rather than a full blog. I don't think there would be a problem posting it... Here's what it said:

"im in canada and no one can stop me!!!!!!!!!!! oh and im having the time of my life!!!!"

Thanks so much for your recaps and pictures and videos!!! I am glad everyone had a good time!!

And Welcome!

Thanks cursedhyphen for sharing your videos and pics. Love that Elliott put on such a great show up there in Canada. He sounded great in these videos. Love the pic of him all bundled up with the knit hat on.

Hope the Toronto show is just as great. :fangirly:

:welcome: Cursedhyphen! Thanks for sharing the pics, recap and vids. You had a good spot too. Elliott was all bundled up. How cold was it? How wonderful is that guy.. no matter what, he doesn't forget his fans. :)

Loved your video and pics.

Welcome, hope to hear from you on the eTrain a lot.

Thanks so much for the recap of your evening with Elliott. It was comforting to read that he pulled in an audience. From what I understand it is often difficult for Anglophone artists in the Province of Quebec.

It doesn’t surprise me at all that Elliott and his buddies enjoyed Montreal. I lived there (in my youth), and have the greatest memories of an extraordinary city. So very beautiful, although still warm to us from the north it must have been brutal for the boys from the south. Good thing Elliott had that toque. If they visited later in the winter I’m sure we would have had pictures of Elliott in a balaclava.

Yeah, we only got there about an hour and fifteen minutes before the doors open and we were able to get front row. Pretty good spot indeed. And yes, by the end of the night, it was getting pretty darn cold. I'd say it was close to -10ºC, so about 15ºF. But he braved the cold nonetheless :)

Well, Quebec definitely still has its language issues, but I'd say radio is pretty radio-friendly, especially to international artists. It's actually a little harder for up and coming French artists to get played on the radio. But Montreal has a great indie scene, both in French and English.

I told Elliott it actually gets a hell of a lot colder and worse, but that doesn't change the fact that we were still freezing, heh :P

elliottcrazy - November 20, 2007 03:00 PM (GMT)
Oh man ,I just love that Elliott has all this love coming from across the border & over the oceans...sounds like Canada really loved him!!

what 's next then..?? Europe I hope. :rocker:

I know this isn't the media thread but since most of the vids and pics of this show were posted here, I thought I would add the rest here too. Let me know if you need me to move it to the other thread.

I HAVE to thank gerryd for my wonderful new sigpic!

I sent her some Elliott Christmas CDs, and she had Elliott sign one of them for me at the Montreal concert and then she sent it back to me! I had NO idea she was going to do this! She and her husband met Elliott and she told Elliott about me and how I had sent her the CDs (which so many of us have done for our fellow Etrainers), so that is why he wrote what he did. I hope the pic came out clear enough, but it says, "Dear Karen, thx 4 the love & support. God Bless!"

Gerryd was SO kind to do this for me! Thank you so much!

Heres another great example (and there have been so many!) of Etrainers doing kind & thoughtful things for each other. So happy for you guys!

Hey Wee! I'm just so thankful that my little plan worked out because I wanted to somehow show you how grateful I am for your kindness. Seeing your new signature makes me smile really big!! And so does seeing my new signature!! Thanks for the suggestion to do that.
