Title: Hey Elliott...com' Ere...com' Ere!!!
Description: Robyn and Matt: A Highline Lovestory

While most of the evening has already been talked about and described in much detail there is an incident involving Robyn and her husband Matt that I feel should be shared with everyone here. It exemplifies the type of love that exists here on the Etrain!!
I had met Robyn at the show at Great Adventure but only briefly. She seemed very sweet and nice and meeting her again last night only drove that assement home. She is very passionate about Elliott and this is evident by the way she gets all tongue tied and googly eyed whenever she is around him. She told me that the only other person she has gotten that way over was David Cassidy. She told me who this David Cassidy person was and that he was on some television show in the 70's. She kept insisting that I should know who he is as she thinks we are the same age, but in fact I am many years younger than she seems to think...but I digress.
This time around I had the honor of meeting her husband Matt...a big bear of a guy who indulges his wife's obsession about Elliott, but as the night progressed came to realize that he is as big a fan as she is. The love the two have for each is other is obvious in the way they are with each other.
Robyn has had the good fortune to have met Elliott and the members of his band several times and had the various photos from those encounters made into a poster and her goal for the evening was to have everyone autograph it. Well she was succesful and had all the autographs...except the one she most wanted...Elliott's. She had a chance during the sound check when he came off stage and was hanging out with the Etrainers present...but like the rest of us...when she spoke to him whatever she said came out like Charlie Brown's teacher and she forgot to get him to sign the poster.
Now she didn't want to bother Elliott again, but Matt ever the dutiful spouse and not wanting to see the love of his life disappointed said..."Gimme that...I'll get it signed." So as Elliott was heading towards us, Matt in his deep booming New Jersey voice...says...HEY ELLIOTT COM'ERE... COM'ERE!!! I think Elliott thought he was about to get mugged or something because he pulled his wallet out of his pocket... Hell...I even took two steps back and I KNEW what was going on!!! Matt then said ELLIOTT...Sign this for my wife!! The only other time I saw Elliott that shaken was when he met Stevie Wonder!!! Realizing there was no danger, Elliott regained his composure, put his wallet away and gladly signed the poster. Matt ever the gentleman, said thanks and Elliott was on his way...although I did notice him look over his shoulder as he walked away just making sure Matt wasn't following him. Matt walked over to Robyn and handed her the poster...she didn't say it...but you could see she was thinking...MY HERO!!!
It was so sweet to see two people in this day and age in love with each other as much as Robyn and Matt. While we were waiting for Elliott to come out for the encore...Robyn said "I wish Elliott would do a song not on his set list" Again...moved by the great love that he has for his wife and not wanting to see her disappointed...and if you listen closely to the video of the encore...you can here from the foot of the stage as Elliott comes back out...a man's deep booming voice saying...HEY...ELLIOTT! Com' ere...Com'ere!!!
Now that's LOVE!!!

I laughed so hard I cried-- my stomach hurts now-- and because of all the excitement-MY NAME in the TITLE of a post- I feel like I might have to go take a nap (you know how us OLD people get) :rotfl:
Thanks for letting me talk your ears off about the "good old days"-- what a repectful young man you are listening to me go on about the 70's Tiger Beat pinups and 80's rock bands--(Tiger Beat? Where did that come from) LOL

Beautiful :) and funny. If I may add one tiny thing.....Robyn was saying that each of her family had a different "favorite" Elliott song, and she said that Matt's was "I'm the Man" How awesome is that??
Missing everyone already

Oh Rick, you are the consummate storyteller. I knew the story because I witnessed it first-hand, but still you had me on the edge of my seat. I will never forget the dead stop he made when he heard Matt's "com' ere"! and the look on his face.

That'sa great story. We met Robyn and Matt at the Sayreville concert, we were standing together. Then we met them again in Philly, where Robyn pointed out she was in the video I posted. lol!
Anyway, it is especially good to see another husband there...
