Title: Elliott At The Revolution Hall In Troy
Description: the story of my very lucky day!

shatner8 - November 24, 2007 01:42 PM (GMT)
Being Irish, I have always believed that just a little "luck" shining down can sometimes make the difference between a very good and a very bad day! I have lucky charms, lucky shirts, you name it, I try and stack the deck in favor of a little luck finding it's way to my life whenever I can.

Yesterday I had a very lucky day which ended in Elliott's show in Troy, a venue literally two blocks from my office. It is right next to a brew pub called Brown's where my office often goes to lunch.
My luck started at 4:30A where I patiently waited in line at a FYE for a Wii for my youngest son, in a item he has been begging to receive for many months.
I was eighth in line and all the women in front were all there for the same thing, and my heart was sinking that I would leave empty handed after surviving a long wait, no sleep, and worse enough no coffee! Sure enough, the doors open at 6A, people rush to the counter (people can be quite agressive on black friday), and guess what, there are exactly eight game systems to be had.
Couldn't believe my luck, whoo whee
Stopping for coffee (did I need it then) I decided to buy two scratchoff lottery tickets, thinking maybe my luck will hold. Whoo whee, I had a $50 winner
on the first one and decided to hold onto the second to give to Elliott that night
hoping I would see him that night. (hope he won!)
My dh and I decided to have dinner at the brew pub before the show, as the show was at eight, and we had time to spare. As we walk in, Russell and Aaron
are there waiting for food and I introduced myself and dh, and wished them a good show. Both very sweet men, We met my good friends, Rich, Tim and Todd who were joining us for the show. None are big E fans, but my dear friend Rich knows full hand my Elliott love and even called to console me on E's elimination night.
As soon as we sit down (right next to a large window) I suddenly notice that Elliott and the band are standing right outside our window, Elliott with his hood up, laughing away about something. As I had a gift for him, I suddenly found myself more courageous that I have never been, and I rushed outside no coat to give Elliott the gift. Standing in the freezing cold I told him who I was, my screen name, he thought I was a star trek fan, lol, and how much I liked his music. Strangely enough, It felt completely natural to be talking with Elliott in the cold outside of that pub, and I had no nerves in the least. I gave him his gift and told him about my luck that day. I love the way he looks you in the eye
when he talks, and I did get a hug, and a "thanks so much sweetheart' and I was on cloud nine. My dh and of course, my camera sitting on the other side of that window. oh well..
and the concert! Elliott looked terrific, sang beautifully and really works the audience now. It is just astounding the growth he has made as a performer the past few months, that nervous boy just gone, simply gone, but the sweet soul and heart still there. I especially enjoyed Train wreck which is my absolute favorite song on the cd. He looked so happy up there, and I admit I was feeling a little bittersweet about the tour ending, what happy memories they must have. Josh spoke about his cd deal and was very friendly with the crowd, I noticed quite a few children at the show and they were all chatting with Josh after his set. very cute. After being ribbed by my friends for being a "fan girl" they enjoyed the show as well, and I have Rich on board for the next tour.

well, there you have it, my Elliott lucky day!

AWWW don't you just love a day like that!?! I am so glad for you. Now the burning question: Was Elliott's lottery ticket a winner?!? Sure do hope so because he sure is!!

Thanks for a lovely recap! I thought you must be a Star Trek fan too :)

E was great last night. So glad I made the trip. I would have paid double what I paid to see him. He is a class act.
He sang great and I was so impressed with his band. Real great sound.
Bitter sweet I will say also, because it will probably be a while before I get another chance to see him, but I enjoyed it so much. I feel very lucky.
It was my first but hopefully not the last. I will never forget last night!!!!

Shatner8 - Being Irish as well, I know what you mean. I am thrilled that you had such a lucky day. I hope it stays with you forever (the luck, I mean; I know the memories will).

Thanks for sharing your beautiful story with us.

jluv's - So true about Elliott being a class act. And welcome to the "going to Elliott concerts" addiction.

Shatner, so happy for you and your lucky day! Enjoyed your recap. Elliott has grown into a star performer beyond even what I imagined he could and he is still just getting started!

Jluv's, glad you chimed in too. Those who have been able to see him live on this tour are fortunate indeed. No doubt he'll be touring again but this time has been special for observing him and his band as a whole blossom into a wow act.
