Thanks Linda, I have that on my Ipod with full band, hmmm...wonder where I got it from.... When I bought the Walmart cd I forgot about the free bonus tracks and when I went to download them later I guess they had put a time limit on downloading them which I don't think was very nice.

jogr - November 29, 2007 01:33 AM (GMT)
I think he sang also "Every step you take. I'll be watching you" . I'm not sure about the title or who's song it was but it's a very famous song.

Every Breath You Take?

Yes. I think this is the song by THE POLICE.
Elliott was asked to sing it. He even did not know the lyrics.
He had to read it, while singing, from a note book somebody gave him.
And of course he sounded amazing.
I can't find it on the Youtube.

I like the song Believe too - the tone of his voice is stunning.

My computer can't download the site from which they are available, so I don't have 3 of the bonus tracks: Sharing the Night Together, Sign Your Name, and the acoustic You Are The One.

Believe was from the AI site if I remember correctly.

There's another bonus track of him from Napster called, "Easy Lover." Originally sung by Phil Collins.

thanks Harley, sometimes I forget about all the good stuff we have thanks to the talented people on here. If I had taken a little more time to look around, this thread would have been unnecessary except to say I like "Believe' LOL And thanks for your list Momster, I think we must have covered them all.
So the ones I don't have are:
Easy Lover and Sign Your Name..Will have to do something about that.

oh, so you've already heard it....I sort of thought it was unlikely (being the fan-atic that you are...teehee) that you had somehow missed it!! :rotfl:

It's one of my favorites. As a matter of fact, I LOVE the bonus tracks. I wish I'll Make You Dance had been included on the album so it could be released as a single...as well as I'm In Love With You Forever.

For some reason, Believe is the only track I had never downloaded. When Elliott added it to his myspace, I started listening, and was hooked on it immediately. The vocals are amazing. I have to wonder, and I know this is all speculation on my part, but since it is available only through AI, do you think it could have possibly been a song that was written for the finale? If so, if he had the opportunity to sing it on AI, he would have taken the crown, imo. AND if it was a finale song, it is probably the best one ever chosen by the show. I know it's not Elliott's typical R&B style, but we all know the man can sing anything.

durden - December 4, 2007 01:11 AM (GMT)
^ I'm not sure if it was written for the finale, but I do remember Elliott saying that Do I Make You Proud was his original song, and that he had already recorded it. When he got voted off, Taylor switched from his original song to Do I Make You Proud. Can you just imagine if Elliott's version of DIMYP leaked out? Would probably makes Taylor's version sound completely amateurish.

In retrospect, it's definitely better that Elliott did not win American Idol... but I just have this vision of him singing triumphantly at the finale.. with the chorus in the background.. Mama Yamin looking on with tears in her eyes,,, and Elliott with tears in his eyes as well. That would have been the most amazing television moment. And I still hate the show for screwing over Elliott.

actually the true story behind it was that during the top 3, they were given their song choices to sing for the finale. Taylor got Believe while Elliott got DIMYP and Taylor truly didnt want his song of choice, so being the nice guy as he is, they switched songs. Oh and I think that also during the top 3 they record the finale song in the studio.

really??? Somehow I knew that was an AI finale song. It would have been the best one they ever had!!!! If he had a chance to sing it, he would have won hands down!!! Very nice of AI to let Elliott use it as a bonus track as they probably could've kept it for the next AI season. His vocals are AMAZING on this song. WOW.....since I've always felt they liked him, but didn't want him to win, if after he recorded it, they made sure he didn't get into the finale as he surely would've won with that song.

musicmovesme - December 5, 2007 05:35 AM (GMT)
Hmmmm....verrrrry interesting response to this song on his MySpace. The significance of "Believe" (to me) is not the song but as a demo it shows Elliott's potential to sing pop/rock and sound as brilliant and arresting as he does singing his usual pop/r&b/soul. I bet he eventually whips a** on some songs in every musical genre. He truly is the most talented singer in a long long time.

wowhesgood - December 5, 2007 01:27 PM (GMT)
There have been a lot of comments about it on his myspace. I truly love this song, both the lyrics and their message but to me, I agree, it really showcases his vocals. When all the bonus tracks came out I wasn't even going to give it a listen because it was from the AI website and I was still a bit bitter but I'm so glad I finally decided to download it.

Yesterday I listened to the State Fair recordings again and his versatility is just incredible he truly can sing ANYTHING!
