A nomination for Elliott would have sent a message to other aspiring artists that wholesome, good values can prevail in the wacky world of music. It might suggest also that you do not need to be mentally unbalanced and in rehab to make a mark on the music world. I realize that talent should be recognized no matter the personal problems of the artist, but I also realize that real talent should not be ignored because of stability and decency!!
