If so, I cannot see anyone else paying tribute to Donny or his music more that Elliott. I also cannot see anyone SINGING Donny like Elliott can.

I wonder if his team will try to get Elliott the chance.............he does know Donny's daughter from singing back up on AI, so maybe there is some way?

I'm not really all that disappointed that Elliott didn't get a Grammy nod this year, although I would have been thrilled to death if he did. However, seeing who got some of the nods (Amy Winehouse-I don't get the fascination with her, her voice I think is just average, and her personal life is a mess, I really don't think it does people justice to get rewarded for their poor choices in behaviors, but that is just me. I think if they clean up their act, then yes, that would be validation but...). Also, I love the PWT, and Delilah, but I don't think that song went higher than WFY on the charts, and it fell faster, but whatever, they are good. I just don't know how they got the bid and not Elliott, except that he is Indie. I looked at all the categories for the Grammy's, Best Polka music, Best Ethnic Music, Best Ethnic music that isn't Polka,etc. You would think they would have one or two categories for Indies.

I think he will be noticed more if he gets to just sing on a music type show, where more people can hear his voice. :tisdseason:

Elliott seems to always be "late to the party"................so his Grammy will come someday. I'm kind of glad that he isn't up against Daughtry this year. I want the comparisons to stop. I think Elliott will be around long after Daughtry fades. He is that good.............and people are just starting to notice. Imagine him blowing up the more the voice gets heard!!!!

I want to vote for Elliott singing a Donny Hathaway tribute!!! I wish there was some way to get the PTB to just consider it.

I agree with all of this except, I AM all that disappointed that E didn't get the nod. Well maybe sad is a better word. But wouldn't it be wonderful to hear Elliott do a tribute to Donny!!!!!!!!!! That would most assuredly ease any of the angst we might be feeling right now.

Since Elliott will be entertaining the troops on the USO tour starting 2-11-07, he will probably already be at his first destination or on his way to it when the Grammy Awards show takes place 2-10-07.

It would have been great to have Elliott sing a Donny Hathaway song on the Grammy Awards though.
