I just found out that One Word is debuting on TRL today. Not sure if everyone knows about this already but it was news to me.

I had MTV on in the background and suddenly heard One Word being played. I hit rewind (love my DVR) and it was a TRL commercial saying they'll be debuting new music by "Elliott Yamin from American Idol" (and a couple other artists I didn't pay attention to). Then they played a clip of One Word at the end. I thought that was pretty cool.

I wish MTV.com had the OW video under MTV Picks or MTV Premiers but they don't. Right now you still have to search the video by artist

I don't get it either. TRL is a big thing not to announce. I only found out through pure luck. We're having a huge snowstorm, so I happened to be working at home today.

ETA: Could it have been a last-minute addition to the show? Seems unlike him to overlook something this important. At the very least, we'll usually get an iSquad email.

viewing it now....it could use some help with increasing the plays....its got some major catching up to do compared to WFY

They sure seem casual about a lot of things these days.

I'm beginning to get more optimistic about OW, very happy about this. Also, this is the first time I have gone to this site and was pleased to see that you can access all of the lyrics to Elliott's songs. I think kids like to sing along so maybe this will also increase requests.

Also, just because this site is too darn non-controversial today and needs a little debate, THIS version has lots of the model in the white room and only the long shot of the final kiss. (But possibly we've already beaten this horse to death LOL).

Maybe, just maybe, Elliott and his team didn't know about it either. Like someone posted up thread, might have been last minute. I'm just happy it was shown whether I saw it or not. :1word:

hmmm...nah, Hickory/Sony would have had to send the video to them.
They would have known in advance. Maybe they see this as a way of getting potential play, since VH1 is basically on hiatus.

I thought TRL was going off the air...are they still only airing LIVE twice weekly?

Just because they sent it to them doesn't meant they knew they were going to air it. It meant they hoped they would. I wouldn't worry too much - it's GREAT that it aired, but MTV hardly ever plays videos any more and TRL is in flux - still it was important exposure.

I'm certainly not worried about it; not my video or my career. I'm here to simply support as a fan, and I continue to worry that he's not getting his money's worth in the promotional department.

Another issue: the vid is still not on his official youtube page last I checked. If I had any say, I'd get that thing there ASAP and also post it as a reply to that duet. The vid needs traffic, and I can't understand why people are sitting on it.

TRL and MTV are fantastic exposure.

Hopefully radio stations will take notice.
