interesting that, out of the 72 Idols from the first six seasons, only 13-14 have sold in excess of 300K, and only 11 of the artists, so far, have went Gold. Those top 20 are the cream of the crop of the AI franchise. Also interesting is that only 3 do not have contracts with Sony BMG/19E (Gracin, Yamin, Covington).

I went to Scary Boards to see if they had any info about sales. They did but only about Jordin, Blake and Chris D. Nothing about E.
26 JORDIN SPARKS 19/JIVE/ZLG 60,761 +16%
33 BLAKE LEWIS 19/ARISTA/RMG 54,789 -44%
and Chris: 60,294.

I wonder how they managed to leave Bucky off the list since has sold more than Jordin.

This comparision has to take into account the time they have had to sell their songs and Cd's. Elliott's Cd hit in March so Elliott's Cd is young compared to Clay , Kelly Clarkson, Carrie, etc...they have been performing for years. Only one to compare is 5th season and many have had extra time and huge promotion. We waited a long time to get Elliott's music so Elliott is doing absolutely great being an indie artist and only his first year. His Cd is still selling and Elliott has just begun. No big muscle behind Elliott either . It is his voice that is selling his CD. Elliott has a long way to go. We just have to request, contact TV shows to have an appearance of Elliott and keep his name and music on media and radio. :xmasetrain:

I totally agree. In fact, anything Elliott Yamin should have a handicap score/ rating, i.e. three times, inasmuch as being indie is not the same as being on the big label.

Isn't Elliott the only one that's indie? Quite a coup if you ask me! Way to go Elliott! I still wonder if Clive isn't kicking himself in the rear end... I'd kinda like to see that!

Come on now, let's be realistic. Clive's too old to kick himself in the rear, he have to hire somebody to do it. :santarotfl:

Haha too funny! Lets play kick the Clive! Anyway considering all Elliott is doing pretty well for himself!
imthesame - December 28, 2007 08:29 PM (GMT)
Poor Clive is too old to kick himself in the rear - takes lots of flexibility. He'd need help.
