Title: Elliott On Wplj New York
Description: stream it now 6 am - 10 am

penni - December 20, 2007 11:33 AM (GMT)
WPLJ 95.5 -- morning show with Scott and Todd is live from Blythdale Children's hospital this morning .. their last show before vacation.

Elliott will be on with Rob Thomas, John Mayer, Pat Monahan (from Train)

They just announced the line up .. saying "Elliott Yamin one of the guys from Idol (or something like that) ... then said he'd better bring it. The female, Patty, said "he will." AND WE KNOW HE WILL.

Then either Scott or Todd said there was a controversy ... had to get a keyboarder for him .. (guess Joonie wasn't available) .... thought we couldn't handle it for him ... (they have a band there too)

jeez, i hate when there is something negative said about our boy ..

anyway .. he'll show them !!! (and maybe he'll talk to them about playing OW !!!!

anyway .. i probably won't be able to get back to this (work .. ugh .. ) so i hope someone will keep this going with updates!

I cannot stand wplj---Elliott will bring it and they will have to eat crow. Maybe finally now they will play his music.

Good that E is there with John Mayer and Rob Thomas!!

chloewannabee - December 20, 2007 12:12 PM (GMT)
There he is Elliott Yamin. there were 2 people who finished ahead of him on AI Taylor and Katherine, and guess who has the biggest selling album!!
He's singing This Christmas!!!! :hapiholidays:

emmy4E - December 20, 2007 12:12 PM (GMT)
Penni - Thanks for the reminder this morning! I was up but would have missed this if not for you!

He sounds wonderful this morning- I must confess I am crying again- I am thinking about the words in relation to sick children. His voice is so clear and with so much emotion this morning. I saw the part about the keyboard and even without Joonie (?) it is one of the best live broadcasts. I hope they loved him- YES I think they did!

Holiday Song! This is a first for me to hear live!

What fun this morning!

chloewannabee - December 20, 2007 12:13 PM (GMT)

emmy4E - December 20, 2007 12:21 PM (GMT)
I loved how OW sounded live!! I feel like this song will "take off" after Christmas. It is just so gooood! Hopefully after this OW will get airplay from this station.

rooney - December 20, 2007 12:23 PM (GMT)
Any chance someone recorded this? Sometimes my timing just stinks! Had the station on but was called away from the computer for a bit.

chloewannabee - December 20, 2007 12:23 PM (GMT)
Seems as though John Mayer is late!
Hmmmmm, maybe they'll bring Elliott on again!

Wouldn't I be happy! LOL

georgiafan1 - December 20, 2007 12:31 PM (GMT)
Elliott was amazing on all three songs. I don't know how he manages to sound so great at 7 AM. He impressed the DJs. I loved the "What a voice" comment. YAY, Elliott. :xmascheerleader:

At the end, when the crowd was cheering, Elliott introduced "Russell Ali and Joonie". So I guess Joonie made it after all.

I hope John Mayer and Rob Thomas heard Elliott singing this morning.

emmy4E - December 20, 2007 12:34 PM (GMT)
I thought the keyboard sounded "different" maybe Joonie had to borrow someone's keyboard and that changed the sound depending on type?? I don't know but what I do know is Elliott sounded AMAZING as always.

Gotta hit the shower- Have a great day everyone!

Judy - December 20, 2007 12:41 PM (GMT)
Three songs.......and all sounded great. And their comments after he sang were very complimentary. 'Course they realize, this is someone singing live at 7 a.m., and without his usual keyboardist and STILL sounding wonderful. I hope Elliott also got some off-air time with the radio staff because his personality always wins people over, along with his voice.

I always think about how so many singers that have hits on the radio could never go into a studio and sing live. So many are just studio manufactured.

jamie50 - December 20, 2007 12:42 PM (GMT)
That was fun. I had it on when I woke up and Elliott was the first one on. He sounded really great so early in the morning. And I got to hear This Christmas. I wish he had some more Christmas gigs lined up. Great way to start the day.

John Mayer is performing now and sounds fantastic. This is a terrific Xmas concert so try to listen if you get a chance.

Linda4Elliott - December 20, 2007 01:01 PM (GMT)
:bawl: I missed it. I hope they have a podcast.

itslate - December 20, 2007 01:08 PM (GMT)
well I missed Elliott :( caught the last of John Mayer... sounds like a great concert! I'm going to keep listening.

I don't see any podcasts on the site, hope I missed something... or one of you caught it?

itslate - December 20, 2007 01:11 PM (GMT)
What I'm really waiting for is for them all to sing together... XX I can only wish. I'd love it.

klo129 - December 20, 2007 01:14 PM (GMT)
Here is Elliott's performance:

As usual, I missed the intro and there is junk at the end.

P.S. Elliott sounds wonderful.

mominny - December 20, 2007 01:15 PM (GMT)
I heard One Word in the car----it was awesome---missed the first couple of songs.

I tried to call to make a donation and plead with them to have E back on to sing his funky Jingle Bells. That would have been cute for the kids. Phone busy though...John Mayer...what a nice guy!! He sounded excellent as well.

Now I have to work......

Pat Moynihan (who I don't know) is performing now. Sorry, but this just isn't in the Elliott/John Mayer league. Anyway, the first two acts were fabulous.

I'm enjoying him! I know this song. Love to have the whole thing.

Thanks so much Klo for the download, you're a life saver :). Would you mind as always, if I put it up on my more permanent megaupload?

Linda4Elliott - December 20, 2007 01:23 PM (GMT)
Pat Moynihan is the singer/songwriter from Train

wowhesgood - December 20, 2007 01:24 PM (GMT)
Dang, I missed Elliott, John Mayer too!!! Grrr. Glad to know though that he sounded great as usual. He's there with some great musicians. It would be great if he was able to get something going w/ them!!! What a great event they are all participating in. Great exposure for our lovely boy!!!!

Linda4Elliott - December 20, 2007 01:24 PM (GMT)
