Title: Hot Ac With A Bullet
Description: OW Moves Up to 101 Position

I had to check out the HAC MediaBase Chart because it turns out that NorCal is predominately AC or HAC and it was painful waiting for our local radio to spin WFY.

Now, I notice one lone station in Colorado Springs in the HAC radio format is moving Elliott's OW up the HAC charts....ever so slowly.

I had decided to hold off on "premature" requests" for OW since we were flying blind on WFY requesting before. But now I'm wondering if maybe HAC stations will be the same slow burn they were before, or if some requesting now is okay?

Here's the info from MediaBase on the one HAC station spinning OW:

Hi Sk8888, I noticed this station . It has been on rotation for sometime now. Just hope there are more following stations. I believe we can request. I have been requesting Top 40 but HOT AC can play and the song doesn't have to start on Top 40. Micheal Buble is typical HOT AC and AC artist. It would be great to have the song break on Top 40 but I will take any format to play ONE WORD. We shall see.

My semi-educated guess on Colorado Springs: this HAC add happened at the exact same time that the pop station in Co. Springs (KKMG) took "One Word" out of rotation. They're both Clear Channel stations, possibly owned and run by the same suits. When owned by the same entity in the same market, stations will often divy up music onto different playlists in order not to split their own audience.

So, I suspect it was determined that OW would not succeed at their pop station there (which leans pretty Rhythmic) and might work better at HAC.

It may also be a test run to see how it's callout goes before sending it out to other HAC stations. I expected to see the HACs in Cincy and Boston to add it by now. The song seems pretty dead at this point, to be honest, unless they're putting things on hold and deciding to give one more push once the New Year hits.

Other than the HAC in San Fran that just sponsored the concert, I don't think it's worth requesting "One Word" at HAC until we see more spins happening.
