I found this embedded You Tube video on a blog that I read. She is a big Bruce Springsteen fan. I used to like him back in the day and he is ok now. But in listening to him sing "Merry Christmas Baby" I kept thinking" Elliott's version is so much better" I kept listening thinking to myself that this is Bruce Springsteen He is LEGEND! Shouldn't in all honestly and fairness his version be better...I kept listening and you know what it WASN"T better!! Hands down Elliott wins!!!

Here is the link if you would like to make your own comparision.

On a side note my sis went to great lengths to get me a signed EY CD. I had no idea she was working on that.

The whole performance aspect was what was so special about the Springsteen version--it was performed on SNL, I believe, and I remember how the audience (and millions watching) were so entertained by it but even moreso by his Santa Clause Is Coming to Town. Elliott reminds me of Springsteen in lots of ways other than singing. He is a charming and loveable live entertainer and MCB is perfect for his voice and style. Hope he gets the chance to perform this next year live on tv--as great as the recording is think it would blow everyone away out in tv land if they saw him sing it live.

I heard Aaon Neville's version of Merry Christmas Baby today, and as much as I love his music, I think E's version is a gazillion times better
just sayin

thanks for the link. Actually their versions are so different, its a question of taste.
vocally elliott is way better (IMO) but the boss has an amazing charisma and experience...
elliott will get to that, he has potential, he has improved so much already.
