I haven't been on this site for many moons. Does anyone know if there will be another release this year?

craxymonkey - January 2, 2008 04:09 AM (GMT)

Me too...can't ever get enough.

I am really looking forward to a new CD - I have a strong feeling that it will be a true reflection of who Elliott really is. The man is going to sustain a lifelong career in music - he is so talented and so grounded.

I'm so excited.

Bet it will be even better! I know, I love his debut, but I don't think it shows everything he can do...I hope this one will!

I can't wait for Elliott's new cd!

:rocker: :yeahthat:

I'm definitely excited and looking forward to it too. His voice is great on whatever material he sings. I'm hoping for a more R&B flavored album, but he can really sing anything :)

I think it's been confirmed that he is writing with Dianne warren. He also said in a recent interview he did in Japan that he was working again with Stargate on 4 or 5 songs. But this time, he's helping to pen the lyrics.

Crazycate - April 3, 2008 02:53 PM (GMT)
Does anyone know when the date of the new album is rumoured to be?

elizajv - April 4, 2008 12:29 AM (GMT)
I don't think anyone at the moment can say when exactly but a summer release is plausible and is apparently the target.

EYaminCDaughtryfan - April 4, 2008 12:31 AM (GMT)
I would like to see Elliott play a concert at the Ohio state fair :rocker: :elliottelliott:

Any idea on song choices or style of album?
I would love top hear something jazz or 40s standard flavored along with some more great R&B!

Well, a lot of Stargate and some Diane Warren suggest there's a lot of poppy stuff, R&B-tinged, I guess, in the offing.

I think he said a while ago that he hoped to have maybe 50 (well, maybe he said 30, but I remember 50) songs to choose from for the album, though, so what those other 46 or 26 would be is anybody's guess, I suppose, although I would expect Josh Hoge to contribute one or two possibilities, so there'd be his bluesy style possibly, too.

Where did he say a lot of Stargate? I saw that posted somewhere. I guess it was an interview I missed? When he was at the JCC forum he did mention that they were going for a more commercial sound. I can't wait!

It was in the recent interviews somewhere that he mentioned he'd be looking at four or five Stargate songs -- Sorry, but I can't remember which interview! It was in the past week or two, though, I think.

I can't wait either. Seems like they really are going to go for the highest quality they can, sifting through tons of material to come up with the final songlist. Obviously the success of the first album has greased the wheels for him with collaborators -- having Stargate proposing so many songs is a real coup for an indie, for example, I would think. Very exciting to think of the sophomore effort being under way!

ETA: Interesting and very inconclusive article about trying to figure out where the long-lasting music stars of tomorrow will come from, how they'll get their music to audiences, and how record labels are really really neglecting artist development, potentially to their and the young artists' peril.
