I notice everytime there is a quote from Randy, he always makes mention of Elliott being on the album.

People in the business know what we know about Elliott - they are music people and they love him too - we don't need to worry - Elliott is here to stay!

Damn those collaborations are no jokes!!! It's such an honor that Elliott is among them! And another Elliott song which I hope to be another huge hit!

I posted this a while ago.

I believe that this is the CD that Elliott will be on.

Randy must be highly impressed with Elliott's singing on this cd (no surprise there) since he mentions him immediately after his very favorite person, Mariah. I can hardly wait for this release. I hope we can all relax a bit since Elliott is still getting mentioned quite a lot. You know how happy and relaxed Elliott looked at the Laker's game? Well, let's follow his lead and just wait for the next great thing to come his way, which I am sure will happen soon.

Isn't this the duet with Katherine McPhee? And he didn't even mention her! :cheerleaders:

You know what is cool. My boss mentioned this to me a few weeks back. He had seen a Randy interview or something like that and told me that Elliott was going to be on Randy's CD. I had to laugh, he should have know better than to try to tell me something. I looked at him and he laughed at me and said I know, you already knew didn't you? But I thanked him anyway, gotta keep the boss happy. LOL

Judy - January 6, 2008 04:21 PM (GMT)
Yep, I noticed too there was no mention of McPhee. Makes me think there is probably truth to the rumors circulating about her being the next to be dropped from the AI stable. I'm sure Randy is aware of what's going on and figures her first cd was her last.

At least your boss is paying attention when he hears things about Elliott! People stop by my cube at work to get the lates Elliott news. Sometimes I scare myself when I start spouting out stuff. I can tell you almost anything you want to know about Elliott but I can't remember what I did yesterday. :rotfl:

:hooray: Elliott is still going strong and I plan on getting this cd for sure. Congrats to our guy for being such a worthwhile addition to this newest cd from Randy Jackson.

I think it's more likely that they're going to give her a second chance based on her trying a completely different genre -- more ballady, maybe even standards or classical crossover-influenced. She and David Foster have said that he'll helm her second album, so if they keep collaborating, seems like she'll get a second shot to launch herself. If that doesn't work any better, I'm sure she's toast immediately, though.

I think they'll give McPhee another chance, perhaps going for the softer pop that is becoming popular again. That won't change her personality, though... her biggest drawback.

I never dreamed that I'd ever see Elliott on a CD with Ghost Face Killa. Randy made it happen. I love it. Things are never dull in Elliott fandom world. LOL.

Yeah, it's so awesome that he was included in that range of established artists. Randy so believes in him so much, and he should too. Lol. Can't wait to hear the song!!!!

yellin4yamin - January 7, 2008 02:58 PM (GMT)
yeah I knew it said it wouldn't be out until March in EW magazine...so we may have to wait a bit longer than January! I know I for one am keeping my fingers crossed for a EY "first single"...;)

wow- there are so many posts I want to reply to, but I definitely agree with you, Judy - Elliott is likely a lot more relaxed than any of us are - he knows what his next step will be - just wish he'd share his thoughts with us!

I was impressed with Randy's background when I read one of the article and I look forward to hearing this cd. I know Elliott will be good. I just hope Kat is up to his standard.

Randy always loved Elliott...I remember when they were looking at pics trying to decide who to go through after Hollywood, and Randy said of one contestant, "that's my boy right there". I always thought he was talking about Elliott. I think he always knew he would work with him...the man has got great taste, and knows talent when he sees it! There was an article about Randy in the Sunday paper magazine Parade this past weekend. Very nice article, and I gotta say I am very impressed with him. And I'm very glad that he produced this album and included his boy!

Yeah, and it sort of appears that the Elliott-Kat duet may be the only -- or one of the tiny handful -- of Idol alum songs on the album. And Elliott's the only one who's consistently getting mentioned. Huge compliment, I'd say.

Linda4Elliott - January 10, 2008 10:19 PM (GMT)
I don't know if anyone has already posted this, but I found a little clip about Randy's upcoming CD on "Randy Jackson's Hit List" It really doesn't add anything new, but nice hearing news directly from Randy's mouth. He doesn't mention any names at all, but DOES talk about a new single being released soon.....fingers crossed for the Elliott duet :)

It is dated 1/05

Well, I listened to Randy and he says the album will be out in March and be called Randy Jackson's Music Club Vol 1. It makes me wonder if it is the same cd on Amazon to be shipped 1/29/08, American Music, Label Concord Jazz. Do we know for sure?

Judy - January 11, 2008 12:43 AM (GMT)
Whoa! According to TV guide site......first single from the cd is a Randy/Paula Abdul duet. I hope this is not true because it just sounds like a stunt release to me. Fingers crossed it is just a rumor.

Exclusive: Paula Abdul to Sing Live! For Real!

Paula Abdul by Steve Granitz/WireImage.comStraight up now tell me, did you ever think you'd read that headline again in your lifetime? Me, neither. But it's true. A tipster in close proximity to Abdul's inner circle tells me that the American Idol judge, who hasn't released an album of new material since 1995's Head Over Heels, is in talks to perform — no, not on Idol's next '90s theme night — during the network's Super Bowl XLII telecast!

It gets better. (No, not a cameo by MC Scat Cat.) According to my source, the onetime Laker Girl is already in rehearsals for the video to her duet with Randy Jackson, the first single from his upcoming Music Club Vol. 1 CD. If the Super Bowl deal goes through, she would likely use the same choreography during her Feb. 3 Astroturf comeback. (Fox Sports declined comment.)

Of course, Fox wouldn't be relying solely on Abdul to entertain the billion-plus audience. The network announced last month that Tom Petty would headline the halftime show, and more artists may be added in the coming weeks.

So, keeping in mind that only a cold-hearted snake — I'm talking to you, Corey Clark — would hope for the routine to fall flatter than Britney Spears' VMAs debacle, what do we think? Is she really forever our girl? Can she pull this off? Or should she rush, rush off the field before she makes a misstep that'll do her more damage than Hey, Paula? Discuss in the comments section below!

shatner8 - January 11, 2008 01:28 AM (GMT)
a Randy and Paula duet?!! this is the strangest piece of news in a long time, does Randy even sing? I had no idea. And can Paula really pull this off, she
was a good dancer, but her singing always left much to be desired
This seems a very miscoceived and risky attempt to have Paula make her comeback, and on a major tv show to boot-her reality show was a bust.. not getting this at all. Is this a stunt by American idol to win back ratings?

At the end of Nikko's performance, Randy does a little something that leads me to believe he actually can sing. Hmmm..

Nikko was so underrated. He came out with a few good songs post-Idol but I haven't heard much from him. [/nikko smith fangirl moment]

Fact of the Day: Nikko supported Elliott while he was on American Idol! I just had to show some Nikko Smith love!! :fangirly:

I remember Nikko.....I liked him, wasn't he a proffessional baseball player's son? And didn't he leave the show and then come back on?

I was hoping for a really good cd with one of the highlights being a song by Elliott. Something that would sell well and get some new fans for Elliott. I hope I am wrong, but if this is the first single, it could turn out to be a flop. But Randy is supposed to know music, so maybe I am dead wrong.

I WAS ALSO A BIG NIKKO SMITH FAN. I DOUBT IF IT WOULD HAVE COME TO THE ELLIOTT POINT, BUT I WAS SURE ROUTING FOR HIM THAT SEASON.
