Title: No Elliott At New Amazon Download Store
Description: Will miss out on huge promotion, sales

Big mistake here for E's team!
I just noticed he's not among the artists who have their songs available via Amazon's new MP3 store, which is positioned to go head-to-head with iTunes.

Sony BMG just released their catalog tracks to the store; since Sony ATV is a separate entity, they'll need to contract with Amazon themselves.

This is VERY important! Amazon is teaming up with Pepsi to give away 1 BILLION (yes, 1 BILLION!) free songs come SuperBowl Sunday. These "purchases" WILL be counted as a standard download, and are expected to throw the Billboard sales charts into the stratosphere that week, and cause a ton of chart jumps and falls.

let's hope Elliott doesn't miss an opportunity to help him get even closer to a platinum single for WFY!!

I'm confused by this. I tried searching Daughtry, Kelly Clarkson, and Carrie Underwood and didn't get any of their albums. Is this the correct place to find the new download store (this was the search for Carrie):

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_dmusic/1...arrie+underwood

no mistake; they are all Sony BMG, who will be on the download site within 2 weeks.
Sony ATV (Elliott's label), will need to get a contract with Amazon pronto.

I'm putting this put there because virtually every major label with every major artist will be on that site. I would hate to see Elliott not included.

The two current EY offerings are from different labels, other than Sony ATV. Looks like his Jason Nevins mix is making a compilation album called "Ultra 2008". Nice.

Well, I hope someone get word to Elliott's team, if they do not already know this.

Well, this project -- and which big company has signed on when -- has been not only music-industry news but mainstream business news for a long time now. I've been reading about it for months, in many places on the Internet and in print publications. So if they don't know about it they have been living under a rock.

I'm sure they do know but there are probably more contractual complications with getting indies on there than with getting the big labels. Who knows whether Amazon has even started working with indies on this yet? Their first priority had to be getting the big labels to go along.
