I wonder how many CD's got pressed? This is great news! Elliott's Christmas CD is destined to soothe the souls of many during future holiday seasons.

simply AMAZING!!! ;)

Ken has the numbers for the regular Cd:

Elliott sold 2,400 of his non-holiday album, down from 5,000, and is at 484,000 total.

The Xmas CD sales are in his headline this week. "Elliott on target with post-holiday boost" Ken on the Xmas sale after commenting on Idol sales going down:

"One exception: Elliott's Sounds of the Season Target album, which jumped from 123-32 on the chart with a 112% jump in sales to 23,000 (total is 79,000). This phenomenon, coming when it did, even excited the interest of Billboard, which noted it "sold at a bargain basement price last week as part of a promotion for similarly titled projects." (KT Tunstall's album in the series reappeared on the chart at 92.)"

Called it a phenomenom. That's good.

I was wondering this too.

Great News!!!

I wish I could have gotton in on the "bargain basement" prices.

When I went on New Years Eve, it was SOLD OUT!!!

If anyone has any "bargain basements" they don't need.....,
I could use 5.
Let me know.

Taratova - January 9, 2008 10:25 PM (GMT)
A phenomenon for a phenomenal voice!!! Go Elliott!!!!!!

luvthatelliott - January 9, 2008 10:26 PM (GMT)
I actually hope his next cd has the vibe of his Christmas cd - fast songs, slow songs, in between songs, growly songs, smooth as buttah songs...

chloewannabee - January 9, 2008 10:36 PM (GMT)
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

If people want to know the sales number of his regular cd for this week, got this from Ken Barnes:

Quite a large drop, but right after the holidays, not suprising. Most of the other idols' sales went down 50% or more this past week. I'd love his cd to at least get to 500,000. Hopefully it will.

CathyEM - January 9, 2008 11:22 PM (GMT)
AMAZING!!!! I am so happy for Elliott!!!

:hooray: great news, sold out all over my area
Those cd buyers are in for a great late holiday gift!

ohioguy45780 - January 10, 2008 01:53 AM (GMT)
yes; 50-80% drop offs after X-Mas are quite possible. Again, if anyone needs an extra copy or is gifting, now is the time to buy.

The X-mas CD had a nice skyrocket, even if it was $2 or under. People were buying it up, that's for sure. Looks like Swift and Tunstall had similar moves. I'm not sure they were calling it "phenomenal", just a post-X-Mas "phenomenon" that happens as items hit the bargain bins. As someone said, Beyonce had a $5 price tag on her CD after Thanksgiving, and rocketed up the chart. In truth, Daughtry and Winehosue were helped all of last year by occassional sales at $7.99 for their respective CDs.

I wonder if Elliott's debut album is somewhat being hurt by its relatively high price? I'm sure that album would have easily surpassed the 500K mark had the pricing been a little bit lower.

I would probably agree with that. I wish I had bought more at Target the week it was released. It was 9.98 and it had the extra cd with Let Your Heart Lead and I'll Make You Dance( one of my favorite bonus trax).I had just paid I think it was around 15.00 and change in New York at Virgin Records, but that was okay, cause that came with Elliott in person!
Most of the rest I bought were around 11.98.

Wow that's awesome news!!! GREAT NUMBERS! :rocker:

imthesame - January 10, 2008 01:41 PM (GMT)
At our local F.Y.E. the CD was $19.95. They only had one and I don't think they wanted to part with it. They probably really do want to keep one in stock just in case and don't want to order more. Should I buy it and ask for more so they're order more? That's one incredible price.

jamie50 - January 10, 2008 01:50 PM (GMT)

19.95????????/ no wonder it's still there! I do remember going there way back, and NOT buying it at that price. That's a little much!
