I was looking at an old VHS tape from 2006 and I came across the american idol episode when Elliott got voted off of American Idol. I completely forgot that I had recorded that episode! lol But yeah, something I found interesting that I just now realized was that right after Ryan announced that it was indeed Elliott going home that night, the camera flashed on Elliott's family (all had solemn and sad faces), the camera flashed on what I think is Taylor's family (they too had solemn and sad faces) and then the camera flashed on McPhee's family and they were smiling like someone just handed them a million dollars. LOL I never even noticed that. I guess back then, I was too heartbroken to realize the facial expressions and whatnot. Wow, it's just funny how things turned out in the end.

I remember that episode like it was yesterday. I personally thought it was tasteless for the McPhee family to rejoice in Elliott's loss, (but it was not his loss and we all see now and probably that we knew then it wasn't either) I rememebr Kat's mom the most shouting and jumping around like it was the lottery..

The McPhee's reaction is something I recall at the time thinking , "how tacky and insensitive." I guess that whole family is self-absorbed.

I still have that episode on my TiVo. Notice the look on Paula's face and the way she seems to "kick" Randy. She was not a happy camper.....

I will NEVER forget the glee on their faces. If ever I wanted to jump through a tv screen,it was at that moment! Now that I have had a year or two to get past it(well maybe I'm almost past it), I realize they weren't rejoicing in Elliott's loss, but rather rejoicing in their win. But I console myself with the fact that it was short -lived, since they I'm sure, thought she WON, and 5 minutes later, that rug was pulled out from under them.

Oh yeah, I remember watching that episode at a sleepover a year ago with one of my friends and noticing that.
Katharine actually was one of my favorites before Daughtry got voted off - ugh. D:
