Title: One Word At Happy Hour!!!!!

chloewannabee - January 28, 2008 02:11 AM (GMT)
Friday night, we were at a Happy Hour at a restaurant/bar in Pa. There were about 6 tv's hashing out the impending Super Bowl, tons of people, drinking, and adding their commentaries, and all in all it was pretty noisy. All of a sudden my Elliott radar went off, and I thought I heard him singing. I jumped out of my seat and ran into the restaurant, where it was much quieter, to hear the beautiful strains of One Word. I was flipping out. The hostess came over to me to "seat" me, but I told her I was only standing there to hear Elliott Yamin. She told me it was a radio playing, and she went to find out the station( cause I wanted to call them). But she took a long time, so I went back in to the Happy Hour, very Happy!!!!!!

nothing can make a happy hour um...happier..then ELLIOTT YAMIN MUSIC!!!!! YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!! ;) I heard Movin' On in Wal-mart yesterday and you would have thought I just found either a thousand dollar bill, a winning lotto ticket, or the greatest blue light special ever!

Oh yeah, that was K-mart back in the day...

hehe!!

I stepped out of the store I work at in the mall and WFY was playing! I said "Oh, there's my guy!" and my fellow coworker looked around and said "WHO"? He thought I'd seen my hubby! I said no, it's Elliott Yamin, the guy I went to see in concert. He said, Oh....that's a good song.
It made my night!

idoletc - January 28, 2008 11:16 AM (GMT)
Tralalara, that reminds me of the song "My Guy".
""Nothing in the world can take me away from my guy,
No handsome face could ever take the place of my guy."" we all consider Elliott "our guy", I think. He needs to bottle what he's got and sell it, he would be a billionaire!! I love all of stories about "hearing" Elliott out in the public. :awe:

Me too. My husband says "There's your guy" whenever we hear one of Elliott's songs played anywhere. When I had a job, the whole office would make sure I knew when WFY came on. I must go to Walmart and hang out until I hear an Elliott song. I'm not such a Walmart shopper, but if they're play E, they'll get some business from me. I think the old "Hoplessly Devoted to You" from Grease , might be a good theme song for some of us.

Me too..I really go out of control at his concerts. I'm way too old to act like this .lol I have heard You Are The One in Wal Mart also.
I've really embarrassed my hubby acting so silly.
The things Elliott does to us..........

You people need help!!

( :rotfl: )

OK...I have one too...I was taking a walk and I passed by a Houlihans which is by the water...and during the spring and summer they have outdoor seating and the music from inside is piped outside...I had my headphones on and for the first time in a long time I wasn't listening to Elliott...but I swore I could hear Wait For You in my head...I thought...UH OH...I am starting to hear Elliott in my subconcious mind!! I took out one of the ear buds...and sure enough Wait For You was blasting from the speakers...I was so excited...I must have looked like one of those people who suddenly walks into a spider web...unfortunately no one else was around...so I sat down on a bench and pulled out a lighter and just waved my hand back and forth until the song was over.

Rick, I have missed you so much!! I was ready this time, tho. Before I read your post, I removed anything around me that wasn't in solid form and bolted down! Good to hear from you again. Were you funny around Elliott? Just wondering.

PoorMe - January 30, 2008 05:55 PM (GMT)
I had my first experience of hearing an EY song in public last week while I was on vacation in Mazatlan! My husband and I were sitting by the pool, and the dance remix of WFY came on! I got a little bit giddy.

I would have felt the same way Poorme, I'm glad that you finally heard an EY song in public and hope you had a great time in Matzatlan!

Here's one for you...The year of season 5 AI, I was in an antiques store in Lincoln, CA shopping with a friend when I heard the strains of "Home". I got very excited and said to the confused clerk, "I think that's Elliott Yamin!1" She looked at me like I was demented (I am) :dizzy: Then I made it worse..."Oh... It's only Michael Buble." She was shaking her head as I left. My friend won't go in that store anymore.
