Title: The Voting Has Started Again...
Description: one vote per address

dtrowbridge - February 27, 2008 11:59 PM (GMT)
E is losing..

Remus - February 28, 2008 02:59 AM (GMT)
I think a lot of people, especially E-fans, lost interest once the cheating came to light. I've liked Clay's voice ever since he wowed me in season 2 but the radical elements of his fandom have turned me right off and dampened my enthusiasm for him. It's not really his fault but that's the way it is, unfortunately.

I sent out E-mails with a link to vote to all my friends and family.. got to do what you can to get the numbers up.. I am not shy when it comes to Elliott!! I ask for a vote!

I sent out E-mails with a link to vote to all my friends and family.. got to do what you can to get the numbers up.. I am not shy when it comes to Elliott!! I ask for a vote!

I did this yesterday and quite a few have already written back that they voted for Elliott. Almost all of them mentioned the big margin and Elliott being so far behind. In the general scheme of things the poll is of little importance but even unimportant polls will tend to influence the perceptions of people who view the results. And some really good friends might even take it a bit further. I received this in an email today:

I voted for Elliott! I will twist arms of online friends to do the same!

This particular friend has a HUGE (actually super-huge) close-knit family, so I expect that quite a few votes for Elliott will be coming in today.

One of my friends even volunteered to vote both on her work computer and her home computer.

Although he is still far behind in actual votes, the percentage for Elliott has been increasing. Hopefully, this is the beginning of a rally.

Taratova - February 29, 2008 12:14 AM (GMT)
I just looked and Elliott is at 35% of the vote. The best percentage yet.. Keep asking friends and family to vote .. send out this link to them.

:elliottelliott: I voted and have sent out the link to friends & family. I must admit, I stopped voting on Monday when Clay's fans were killing us. I thought they might be cheating in some way. I feel sorry for Clay to have such a dishonest fan base. He is probably my second favorite former Idol, running a very distant second to our boy. Ellliott has so many good things happening for him, winning this poll doesn't mean nearly as much as it would have a year ago. Elliott will always be #1 in the music world to me!

As long as there is a chance of winning I NEVER give up. :elliottcap2: :chloe: :chloe: :chloe: :chloe:

Elliott currently has 36% of the vote. I forget the # of votes. Just had a funny image of Claymates running all over town to sign on from different IP addresses! Those people will stop at nothing! :rotfl:

They don't even have to leave home if they have AOL and a modem.

Very interesting.

itslate - February 29, 2008 03:24 AM (GMT)
Okay, I was up late last night (too much coffee) and wrote down at 3am they had 1254 votes and Elliott had 587.

now they have 1569 and we have 882. We added 295 They added 315 votes. So are there more Clay fans than Elliott? Guess they aren't running out of IP numbers... I mean fans.

itslate - February 29, 2008 03:34 AM (GMT)
Just as a statement of fact, I will say if you use dial up services, most work through a proxy. When sent through a proxy you will have a different IP address almost everytime you dial.

If you have dial up you can see by going here what your ip address is. http://whatismyip.com/ or just google "what's my IP".

now hang up and dial again... new IP. Different phone numbers... even more IP's. These numbers are given to proxy servers to identify them. Of course there are other means of hooking up to proxy servers.

The rules state ONE IP per vote.

Actually, that's quite true for anyone who gets assigned a dynamic (changing) IP address by their ISP (which is almost every home user). Just disconnect from the internet then reconnect and you have a new IP address.

Taratova - February 29, 2008 02:17 PM (GMT)
Keep spreading the voting link . 'Anyone have a site to put the link to vote? I know the I-squad had a list of links to some chat boards. Does anyone go to any of those sites??

Put the link there and maybe we can get a few more votes.. Elliott has broken the 1000 mark with votes and has 39% of the vote. We still have a few days. Most of my friends and family have voted already. SPREAD THE LINK!! :1word: :chloe:

I just Emailed friends & family saying "this won't mean anything to you but it means a lot to me...", then gave them the link and asked for a vote for E. Can't hurt...stay the course! GO E! :rocker:

Wow. You're right about that if it's dial-up, I have cable but my Windows 98 laptop is dial-up only and since I use it mainly for when I travel, I subscribe to a $4/mo ISP which has access in all states and it works on that!!!

I'm behind the times. This computer that I bought two years came with a modem. Do the newer ones still have modems? I know that when I had AOL last year (I no longer have it) that even if you connected by cable or DSL, you had 10 hrs/month dial-up built into your account for travel and emergencies. Is this still true?

I find this sort of thing to be hypocritical and sad. Multiple voting is cheating whether you hang up and get a new IP or find another way to get around an honest vote.

Pointing fingers at another fan base is kind of weird if you're doing it yourself. How come we are gaining if they are the spammers?

I love both of them and had to choose to support E because he needed it more. Now I'm just sad.

Taratova - March 1, 2008 01:47 PM (GMT)
The Elliott fans are explaining how the Clay fans cheat. We are posting to get family and friends to vote.

I am sad. Elliott is losing to cheats!! That is what makes me sad and mad!!!

I have speed clicked till my fingers were numb on polls before and so have the other fan bases.. and this is an even playing field.. what we should have is a even playing field which we don't.

SoulMusicRocks - March 1, 2008 06:15 PM (GMT)
Voted!

realitymom - March 1, 2008 06:22 PM (GMT)
Got my daily vote in!

yellin4yamin - March 1, 2008 06:28 PM (GMT)
been voting! If he truly loses to cheats, then E, and his class act fans are the ones who win in the end, no matter what the vote count says!

;)

Sk8888 - March 1, 2008 08:30 PM (GMT)
Wow, it's a lot closer now.

53 to 47%

About 300 and some votes separating Elliott and Clay.

I'll get some family on-board here.

52% to 48 %
2328 to 2151....we are so close... :chloe:

RockEManSoul - March 2, 2008 08:10 AM (GMT)
You'll win this because you're cheating and because they stopped voting.

vincent - March 2, 2008 06:49 PM (GMT)

Taratova - March 2, 2008 07:06 PM (GMT)

nanab - March 2, 2008 07:31 PM (GMT)
Only 60 votes away... :chloe:

leefromva - March 2, 2008 08:00 PM (GMT)
Does someone have contact with Bucky's fanbase? I think they would help us if we ask them. Anyone know their fans well enough to contact them??? Also have been talking in chatroom, how about Richmonders contacting Lite 98 or the radio station E used to work at. We need help fast before it ends tonight. Maybe also use Myspace or any other internet connections you might have to ask for help. You all may have done all this stuff, just racking my brain trying to come up with some ways to get more votes. Anyone else come up with ideas, please post. We have always worked as a team. We can pull this off together. Let's go E Train!!!

idoletc - March 2, 2008 11:06 PM (GMT)
Only 41 now. Lets go..call friends and family for help. WE CAN DO THIS!! :elliottelliott:
