This year's show will feature the presentation of Golden Note Awards to legendary songwriter/artists Lionel Richie and Steve Miller, a performance by the evening's Vanguard Award recipient Sara Bareilles as well as performances by American Idol-turned-pop sensation Elliott Yamin, and songwriters Chris Tompkins and Josh Kear will be performing the hit song they co-wrote for Carrie Underwood, "Before He Cheats." More performances and honorees will be added soon. The awards show will recognize the songwriters and publishers of the most performed pop songs of 2007.

Elliott has had a great run with WFY and is still # 5 on Mainstream AC. The article mentions the most played song in 2007 which Elliott's song WFY is high on the list.

Idol tapes early west coast time so that it can be shown on the east coast at 8 PM. Elliott will already be in the building (Kodak Theater), so he could easily do both. (I hope. :pray: )

Is Elliott appearing live on that show? I guess I assumed his involvement, whatever it is, was taped in Angola last week.

But I didn't think Idol was done in the Kodak Theatre, only the finale.

Off topic: Elliott is getting to sing at baseball games again this year. YAY!!

If true, this is not just a regular baseball game!! The Washington Nationals are opening their brand new ball park, and March 30th is opening night!! This will be the first regular season game to be played there ever, and Elliott gets to sing the National (Nationals) Anthem! Of course the game is long sold out, darn. Looking at the ticket scalpers on-line, tickets are going for between $130 and $9000!!

I hope they show him singing on TV.

ETA: I was just talking to one of my co-workers. He's trying like crazy to get a ticket. Said they only had 4,000 (I guess these are other than season ticket holders) for sale and they were gone in 6 minutes. My boss has season tickets but no luck in talking him out of one. LOL But this time instead of me reporting to him, he better report back to me. :rotfl:

They cut to somewhere else but it was still part of Idol Gives Back. They had it in two different places. The other was being hosted by Ellen.

Loving these new appearances! I am hoping this award show is televised, sounds like Elliott is in great company. Interesting enough, My fifteen yr old guitar playing son is now obsessed with Steve Miller and I am hearing his song "the joker" day and night. LOL. I can count on him to be very interested in watching the show with me

I really like Sara Bareilles too - I just saw her on either Letterman or Leno the other night, can't remember which - It's great seeing Elliott's name popping up with those of so many other great artists.

I just went into the Washingotn Nationals website and found out that the game on March 30th will be televised at 8:00 P.M (EST) on ESPN. Hopefully, we will get to see and hear E sing the National Anthem. :hooray:

I don't think he's supposed to be live on Idols give Back. I believe he went to Angola to tape segments for the show, so thats probably what we'll see of him.

He did, but he also mentioned at the JCC Event that he was still hoping he might be on the show.

When I saw that early date, I thought.. Wow must be opening night at the new stadium!! How cool is that!!

Last year I was able to catch one of his nights singing the National Anthem on MLB.com.. we had subscribed for the video telecasts... but then later I found out you could see past games for free. So hopefully we'll be able to get it from there. Just the same I'm going to subscribe again :).

I'll just tell my hubby it's to see the Braves play lol.
