Title: Gone Country With Diana Degarmo

 Hello all. Recently on the CMT network, they had a show on called "Gone Country". The idea behind this series was John Rich of the group Big and Rich put together 7 unlikely contestants to become country artists. Each went through a period of learning about how to become country and then each had to write a country song and one would be picked for John Rich to produce it.

The contestants consisted of Diana DeGarmo, Bobby Brown (Yep, Whitney's hubby), Carnie Wilson (Wilson Phillips fame), Sisqu' (Thong song fame), Maureen McCormick (Brady Bunch), Dee Snider (Twisted Sister) and Julio Iglesias Jr.

While I am not big into country, I got interested in this show because I do like Diana DeGarmo. Well sadly Diana did not win the competition (Julio did which was strange in my opinion) however, her song "Right Back Where We Ended" was absolutely fantastic. In fact each did perform pretty well but in my opinion Diana's was the best.

She will be putting out a country album sometime this year. I highly recommend you going to the CMT site and giving her new song a listen. It is great in my opinion!

Hip! Hip! :hooray:

Did you mean Enrique Iglesias? I had read that Diana was wanting to make a Country album, but I don't know why the others got involved, except to be on TV.
I didn't know about this program. I always liked Diana too. Thanks for mentioning it.

I watched it. It was Julio Jr. and he won. They sent the song to Country radio and from what I have seen it flopped big time.(Julio's song not Diana's). John Rich was trying to bring in the Hispanic community into Country music plus all the girls at the finale show went nuts over Julio and so he won. Personally I thought Diana was the most authentic Country/Pop artist on the show and probably does have a future in country music. I was pulling for her.
