I am at a loss for words...

This evening Claudette Yamin passed away.

The world lost a beautiful soul.

I can't go into any details at this time except to say that she went peacefully.

Elliott wanted me to let you all know, but we are asking that you please respect the family's privacy at this time.

We are all aware of your prayers, and we thank you.

In lieu of sending flowers, we ask that donations be sent to the local chapter of the Richmond JDRF.

This is a very sad time for all of us I guess. I remember how precious Mama Claudette was throughout Elliott's AI journey and I am teary eyed because it is indeed very difficult to experience a loss especially the loss of a really wonderful person. We are grieving with Elliott and may our dearest Mama Claudette rest in peace. She will always be in our hearts.

I will never forget the way she smiled and posed for a picture for me- a complete stranger ,just a little over a year ago. We loved her Elliott, she loved us and we returned the love. The circle of love is a good one.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Claudette. I had the pleasure of meeting her at a few local events and will always cherish those memories. She was a beautiful person and raised 2 wonderful sons who will carry on her legacy. She was a very proud mom and the entire world had an opportunity to get to know & love her during American Idol...What a journey she had.

I started to cry when I found out. She was such a wonderful soul, and Elliott couldn't have asked for a more loving and supportive mother. At least she got to see her son's dream come true :bawl:

I am happy and honored that I was able to finally meet Claudette in February. She enjoyed her last two years to the fullest. She had a beautiful soul and I'm sure that spirit lives on. My thoughts and prayers are for all of those who are left behind missing her.
