Has being an Elliott fan changed your life? I am inspired by Elliott's story and his strength!!!!
Taratova - April 2, 2008 06:40 PM (GMT)
Elliott has been an inspiration and yes he has.. Every week Elliott was on AI I voted and had friends and family voting too. I have NEVER been an active fan before and Elliott just created magic.
I was playing Elliott songs every day.I had a burning desire to have Elliott's voice on the radio. I even dreamed about it....When Elliott's song Wait For You went on Radio I e-mailed thousands of requests for the song over the course of months and many stations picked it up. His song and voice are sooo good they are still playing it.. a classic ... so dreams do come true..
Elliott is a SUPERSTAR. His voice is perfection .his tone and complex and unique style plus the feeling Elliott expresses is a rare gift.
Elliott has changed many lives that is for sure..

Yes, being a fan changed my life in a lot of ways. I can't list them all now, but others have told their stories here:

Elliott sings from his soul with a passion. :woohoo:

I nearly gave up the thought of my being an artist (a BFA graduate) to being a full time mother of 3, until I heard of Elliott during the last week of AI for his homecoming to Richmond in 2006, and I was IMMEDIATELY inspired!! His story alone was inspiration enough (the jobs, the search for some meaning, etc . . !!!) I've now re-evaluated myart life past, and decided to give it some "rebirth," in hopes of a new regeneration!!!

I was going through a really tough time health wise, and I was very depressed due to my illness, treatments, etc, when Elliott first appeared on American Idol. Elliott gave me something to be excited about and I looked forward to each week on American Idol....he has stirred something deep inside me that I can not even describe. I hadn't felt like that since I was a teen ager. But he gave me the strength to get through each day until I could become healthy enough to enjoy life again.
Whenever I am having a bad day, or when I don't feel so good, I listen to Elliott and I get this feeling I cannot describe. I get through the day.
I look so forward to reading about him on the boards, and listening to his music.......I haven't felt like this in a long time, and it feels GREAT!!!!!!
He is a superstar in the making..and I am so excited to see him progress...I feel like he is another one of my children...........and I am so proud.

Everyone has hard times and bad days sometimes. I have discoved that Elliott's smooth soulful voice helps to cheer me up :) I'm glad I put this thread on the board. It's nice to read stories from other fans who've been inspired by Elliott :)

I also think that it isn't just the inspiration you draw from him but the fact that we all now have so many new people in our lives due to him. I now have a lot of new friends whom I would otherwise have not met had it not been through this forum.

I DON'T KNOW ANYMORE! HAVE BECOME SPEECHLESS! & INVISIBLE
ridingtheetrain - April 6, 2008 01:30 AM (GMT)
I had forgotten how much I loved music as a teen/young adult until I heard that voice. Elliott inspired me to listen not only to him ( My #1 all time favorite of course), but to listen to other young artists. There's a whole lot of talent out there if you just sift through the junk to get to it. He also inspired me to get involved with causes I had always supported monetarily, but not with time. So you see, Mr. Yamin taught this girl to wake up and live life, not just watch it go by. Thanks, Elliott! And like Eyes, I don't feel so alone anymore! So many nice people here at E-train! :grouphug:

Did becoming an Elliott fan change my life? I won't go so far as saying it has, but what I can say is this: however stressed I get in life, hearing his pristine voice makes it all better for me. Very rarely that I get to listen to someone who's as pure voiced as Elliott and with that too, rarely do I get hooked on an artist like I am right now to him.
And I'm so glad that I decided to join his journey musically. It's in this ride that I get to know him better and better and appreciate him more than just a singer/songwriter, but as a human being as well. His active involvement alone in changing people's lives is enough for me to want to commit my support to him. And with that, I know that my life will slowly change as well, and I can't wait for that to happen!

Let me count the ways!!!
I thought and thought of how to reply to this question, and it's tough to pinpoint all the innumerable ways that "being an Elliott fan" has changed my life, and my outlook on life. I was doing a little digging, because this has come up before on occasion, and I found this post of mine from shortly after the State Fair concert in October 2006
"It all started for me when someone handed me a little green slip of paper at E's concert in Richmond. Thanks Tish!It was asking people to go to Moosak.com and vote for E. I tucked it away, not knowing anything about Moosak. Then at the pj party at the Holiday Inn, I met a bunch of Moosak Sistahs, who also encouraged us to go vote on Moosak. Rainy, Tofu, Donnysgirl, etc...sorry for any names I left out. So when I got home from Richmond, I went there. Still haven't left! They welcomed me withOpen Arms( no , not the "rock" song, Clive) and yet another adventure on this wonderful e-train began!. Very quickly, my E-chat buds came over...thanks guys, you know i love ya all!!!and soon, there were a ton of e-trainers who answered the call for help. It's like one big concentration of e-love over there. There's the Sistahs, the chatters, the etrainers, the newbies, the oldies, the mods, the Yaminions, and tons of other efans. Sorry if I left any groups out.
Anyway, after all this rambling, what I really want to say is that it has been wonderful to see all these different groups, banding together for our common goal. ..Elliott!!!And we made it happen! For the 6th month in a row Elliott is #1, numero uno, the big kahoona, # ein, and I am so proud to have been a part of it!
I've said it before, and it's time to say it again. ..It's been one heck of a ride on this e-train, and I don't plan on leaving any time soon!
Hop aboard everyone!!!
Moosak is since gone, and most of the Sistah's have (if they weren't already)come aboard the E-train.
And you know that tatoo that Yellin has on her leg? I got one too. EEEEEEEEEKKKKKKK! Just kidding! The one I got like hers is the one on my soul!

Me too. I listen to the music again a lot.
I stopped doing that because I was always so busy. But not any more. I have to hear Elliott really often but I also discovered many young singers I really like.
I also go back to the older ones I used to like when I was younger.

The friendships and good will of this board has definitely changed my life for the better. Without Elliott, this place and all of the wonderful people would have never come together. So, of course, I'm grateful for the great music he has and will make in addition to what he helped build here :)

I guess Elliott has changed my life in a couple of ways. He has made me passionate about his music, (from day one), he has made me realize that there really are some "nice" guys out there, he has also inspired me to get somewhat over my shyness. It's still in me, but I am getting better, I think. Never could I get up in front of people and sing like he does, though. First of all, that takes guts, and also, talent, which I will never have. So, I just sit back and enjoy his talent.

I agree Idoltec...it's nice to feel passionate about someone's music again.
I managed to lose 30 lbs walking on the treadmill every day listening to Elliott over and over and never getting tired of it.....but now its time for some new 'E' music. I can't wait! So I guess in that way being an Elliott fan changed me.
idoletc - April 13, 2008 09:47 PM (GMT)
WOW, Rooney, you really lost 30#'s.? That is terrific, good for you. Hey, now maybe you can inspire me to do the same! I wish. I have high blood pressure and I know I don't do right by it. I keep saying I am going to do better. But I am going to do my best, O'K.? Thanks. :hooray:
Linda4Elliott - April 13, 2008 10:53 PM (GMT)
:woohoo: about the 30 lb's, Rooney!
I could go on and on about how my life has changed since discovering Elliott and his music, but a few things stand out. The first would be that I have found an incredible amount of joy and comfort. The second is increased faith and hope that there is good in the world. Thirdly would be the friendships that I have found here and moosak and a sense of belonging. (I've always been kind of an outsider everywhere else.)
