I was listening to the radio this morning getting ready for work. The morning DJ"s were talking about an interview they had with Adam Levigne from Maroon 5, who is also performing at IGB tonight. Anyway, they played the interview and then they were talking about 1 of the DJ's asking him some uncomfortable questions, and he admonished, "you're hanging by a thread" as far as the questioning went.

The lady DJ made some comments about the questions her 2 guy DJ's had made to him and some prior guests, and that they got a "high 5" from their boss, even though some of the questions were inappropriate.

Then she said she almost got fired because she pronounced Elliott Yamin's last name wrong when he stopped on tour last year at the radio station. She's like, "I said his last name wrong, and I got freakin' called into the boss's office and called on the carpet, but you guys can ask these really uncomfortable questions and the boss thinks its great!"

Anyway, I thought it was kinda funny, and got his name out there again.

I know, I know, but the news is kinda slim lately............

I get a kick out of stories like this because it feels like the tide is turning from "Elliott who?"

Whether it's WFY being the answer to a game show question or DJ's yucking it up and talking as if EVERYONE knows Elliott Yamin now, it shows that the biggest hurdle that Elliott faced last year when his CD was released, namely name recognition, just might be diminishing some.

Did this really happen? Jeopardy?? I missed it- that's for sure. And you are right the name recognition is certainly getting out there.

Yeah, I remember way back when they were first playing MO, a dj (female) said, "And here's Elliott Yah-mun..." Tee-hee. I bet they got tons of calls to the radio station!

Well, maybe the boss loved E considering his demeanor whenever he guests in radio programs. Besides no one should really mess with someone's name.
