Title: Question About Rehearsals
fabb - April 19, 2008 05:13 AM (GMT)
Hi all,
I found some old posts about rehearsals and would like to ask if anyone has gone this year. I received vouchers for Tuesday's rehearsals and will need to fly to LA for the day. So, I'm wondering if it's worth the trouble when, even with vouchers and lining up by 1:30 at the studio, there's still NO guarantee of getting in. Do they end up turning people with vouchers away?
Thanks for any advise, or any links with more info.

fabb, maybe you could pm Elliottcat101 (I can't remember her exact screen name), incase she doesn't see this. I believe she went to a dress rehearsal. Good luck in finding some information!

Thanks for directing her my way, Linda! I hope I was able to help.
You'll have a blast if you end up going! I know I did! :D

You guys are so great. Thanks for the info! I feel confident now from EC's advise. However, I have another problem: I have 4 vouchers and only 2 are sure to go now. It says, "Your entire party must be present in order to be checked in". The rules are crazy. Do you think they'll accept that life-size cardboard cutout of E? LOL. Thank you again!

I know some people who would really like to go and were looking for tickets for this week (cause they happen to be in LA this week), and I could have them meet up with you if you'd like. If that sounds like something you'd like to do, you can give me your email address and I can pass it on to them and you guys could work something out.
But if you don't want to do that, you don't have to. The AI people go down the line before letting people in and ask what number of people you actually have coming. As long as it is less than or equal to the number on your voucher, they will let you in. They just write the new number on your ticket over your old number. All that "your entire party must be present" thing means is that they are not going to let 1 person go in with a voucher, and then have 3 more people show up 20 minutes later saying "oh, our friend is already inside with our ticket!" kind of thing... if that makes sense LOL
When I went last week I had a voucher for 3 but it ended up that only 2 of us could go, so I met up with a random but very nice Jason fan from the AI boards and let her come as my third. It was so much fun!

It makes perfect sense! Your help makes it so much better to decide; no clearer explanation than yours, EC that I've found, anywhere. Bless you!!!

So did you go? Did you have fun? I wanna hear all about it¡

I would love to hear more about it. How does it work once you are inside? Do they run through their whole songs? To you, has anyone sounded better in rehearsal than on the show?

people say that they do the song more relaxed and better. Since theyre not singing in front of millions, just a couple... just think about it, would you do better in front of a bunch of cameras w/ millions of people watching or with just a couple people staring?
just a thought (:

yeah, it's true. *Most* of them sound a lot better in rehearsal - some of them because they're less nervous, and some because they just have a better live voice.
This season the person who had the most drastic difference between rehearsal and live show was Michael Johns. And this is not just my opinion: EVERYONE I've talked to who has gone to a rehearsal in which MJ was there said the same thing - he's a lot better in rehearsal!
