Nice interviews - thanks for finding them. Looking forward to seeing what he does with Jermaine Dupri!
durden - May 24, 2008 01:28 AM (GMT)
Thanks for posting!
One thing that has remained consistent is that all radio DJs think Elliott's one of the nicest guys in music. That's just something you can't fake. I loved his answer to the question regarding the hat he was wearing.
And I cannot wait for this second album. I'm glad we're getting more info as to what direction he's going with it.

Thanks for finding these klo. You are really great at finding interviews.
itslate - May 24, 2008 02:35 AM (GMT)
Thanks so much... you're a great finder!!! I just realized klo... 129 is my lucky number :), it's my sons birthday. The only number I ever played on the daily lottery, although not often.
Linda4Elliott - May 24, 2008 02:58 AM (GMT)
Thanks Sherlock ;)
I can't seem to get the second one to work...... :(

Thanks for the links! :)
Listened to them and loved 'em! :elliottelliott:

Thanks so much for these. The Atlanta one was very touching.
Linda4Elliott - May 24, 2008 03:42 AM (GMT)
yikes, can anyone summarize the Atlanta interview? I can't get that one to work. I have tried both links multiple times. I keep getting a little error on page symbol in the left corner of the page. :( I hate missing out on the news. Especially since it is a bit scarce lately.
Sunny - May 24, 2008 03:50 AM (GMT)
Thanks for the links, I enjoyed listening.
jamie50 - May 24, 2008 03:50 AM (GMT)
The Atlanta one is very similiar to the first one except the dj asks him if he drew any inspiration for his mom's passing for the album. Elliott talks abit about that and then says that he used to talk to his mom daily on the phone. He still goes to call her when he lands in an airplane and then realizes she's not there.
Try going to the home page of the Atlanta station. I'm not sure my summary is very complete.

Linda,
It took a long time for the Atlanta interview to work for me (actually, I couldn't get it to play before I posted the link, so I'm glad it worked for others).
Can you download from Megaupload?

Linda4Elliott - May 24, 2008 04:21 AM (GMT)
thanks so much xxmilliexx and klo. I can't get either link to work, so I think it must be my computer. I recently made itunes my default player, but it is not opening up automatically, so I opened it manually and the files aren't there OR my Window Media Player. I really don't know what else to do. I need a personal technical assistant :(
KittyloverforElliott - May 24, 2008 04:32 AM (GMT)
Thanks for the interviews. He sounds rested and I can hardly wait for his new cd to come out.
harleywoman - May 24, 2008 10:50 AM (GMT)

nanassetta - May 24, 2008 01:51 PM (GMT)
Thanks klo129! I finally was able to listen!
PoorMe - May 24, 2008 03:45 PM (GMT)
Thanks klo129! I knew there had to be more interviews out there. I'm getting really excited about the new album. I hope we don't have to wait until the new year for it!
CathyEM - May 24, 2008 04:00 PM (GMT)
May I rant for a moment? Elliott REALLY needs to hire someone to maintain his MySpace page. He repeatedly refers to it in these interviews, but there is NO news on that site! We have to hear about these interviews haphazardly from other fans. No mention of "Real Love," "Can You Feel the Love Tonight," etc. He hasn't blogged in MONTHS.
Etrain is a nice forum for fans, but the only news to speak of is what Nanasetta's been able to research over the internet -- nothing directly from Elliott.
Without an official web site (which I realize is probably pretty expensive to launch and maintain) he really does need to focus on his MySpace page. It's all he has.

FYI..
For those who may not know this.....
Etrainstation works directly with Elliott's team and have from the beginning.
When prompted by Elliott or his management, I post the news they ask.
No news is posted by our staff that doesn't come directly from Elliott or his
team.
Have a happy and safe Memorial Day weekend.
Thanks.
Brandon

wonderful interviews, and it just about broke my heart when he talked about when he still tends to pick up the phone to call his mom when he makes it somewhere safely;(
and ty B..for everything ;)

Randomly off the top of my head I can think of at least 25 topics Elliott should have blogged about these past 8 months and countless interviews and appearances that should have been listed on his myspace as well. He didn’t. I hold out hope. Yet my adoration for him has never been contingent on what he gives me in return, other than his music. I desperately want him to blog, or update his comments regularly, or post his interviews in advance. I believe it is a mistake not to use the promotional tools at his disposal.
That said, in the scheme of things, I don’t believe it will put a dent in the magnitude of his future. We are witnessing the infant stages of a legend in the making. One day his name will be as common on the list of his own heroes as any; Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Bill Withers, Sam Cooke, Elliott Yamin will all roll off the same tongue when people discuss greatness.
You mark my words, this upcoming CD is going to get industry attention, the next will put him on the map. I don’t have even the slightest doubt that some day when people talk about the best voices of all time, he will be part of the conversation.
No, he can’t shake me, not by not blogging, not by not promoting his appearances, not by not updating his comments, not anything – he can’t do it. Do I wish he would pay more attention to these details? Hell, yes. Will he? Probably not.
My love for him is far greater than the sum of its parts

Enjoyed listening to these interviews, especially the Atlanta one. It's nice to know that Elliott is so respected by all the DJ's he has met. Can't wait to hear the new album!

I give up. Can't get the 2nd interview to work. Oh well.
BTW, I bought the Disney Cd and played the whole thing in the car today. My husband suggested that E should consider covering some Barry Manilow and at first I thought nah, not his speed. But if some of Barry's songs were re-worked with E's soulful vibe added then it just might work out.

I'm sorry you couldn't listen either, but in a way I am relieved to know it's not just me. I was afraid I was having a serious computer problem and didn't have a clue how to resolve it. Guess this is one we'll just have to miss :(

I agree with you as well Jackie, won't shake how I feel about him, but some more information would be nice. Schedules are up, schedules are down. There has been so much that he has done in the last few months or more that the fans would love to know about and would increase their love for him. I am certainly not talking about private life, I could care less what he does, but tells us abot what you ar edoing so we can help suport those causes.
Those blogs and things from JDRF are great, totally not writen but him but thats ok. Give us something though.

Every single DJ I've ever heard talk about him says he's the nicest guy they've interviewed or so down to earth or something equally complimentary. I love when they do that, too!

I do wish someone would help him with his myspace. I am sure he is so busy it is hard to keep up with it. I appreciate your comments CathyEM.
Thank you, Brandon, for all the news that you share right from Elliott and his team but there is a lot that is missed. I am sure it is no fault of yours.

Brandon - No disrespect intended -- you can only post what Elliott and his team give you.
Some time ago, Elliott mentioned that he's not just a singer; he's also a businessman, with a sizable investment in what I'll call "Elliott, Inc."
So here's the business scenario: If you're starting up a company and have a new product to offer, you want to get the word out to qualified customers, or leads. Advertising is expensive, but if you already own a mailing list, using the internet is easy and basically FREE. Why would you just ignore those leads?
Elliott has over 14,000 friends on MySpace. A simple bulletin or update to alert these people as to new releases, appearances, etc. would take little effort and wouldn't cost a thing. There is one small banner on his page promoting "Real Love" and no mention whatsoever of "Can You Feel the Love Tonight." No mention of his CD release in Japan or his promotional appearances.
Now I know the guy doesn't have an MBA... that's why he needs some partners. If he could hire a professional to administer his MySpace, they could stay on top of these things so that he could focus on his performances, appearances, etc. I just think he's losing potential momentum here. Carpe Diem, Elliott!!!
