Title: Link To Kat Article Where She Blasts E?

elliottvoter - May 26, 2006 04:30 PM (GMT)
What am I hearing? Kat said some nasty things about Elliott in a TV guide article? :clubbed: Does anyone have the link?

EYowza - May 26, 2006 04:41 PM (GMT)
I didn't hear about that one, but on the AI boards, everyone was in a dither over her interview with Ryan Seacrest in which he asked her which of the male Idols she'd date, and she said, "Definitely not Elliott. He's tiny".

Of course, my reaction to that was, "Don't think you're exactly his cup of tea either, Sister!"

As you might imagine, many female Yaminions jumped to Elliott's defense and said they would be happy to date him.

Man, that girl never ceases to amaze me as to her blatheringidiotness. Is that a word? If not, it should be.

sheilajcny - May 26, 2006 06:16 PM (GMT)
I've just had a thought. WHAT IF she is being careful what she says??

CAN YOU IMAGINE WHAT IT WOULD BE LIKE IF SHE SAID EVERYTHING SHE'S THINKING???

There would be a lynch mob after her... :furious:

pat46 - May 26, 2006 06:20 PM (GMT)
That's assuming she is thinking!

yamingirl - May 26, 2006 06:53 PM (GMT)
Here is the interview. There is nothing wrong with this at all. Stop being so damn biased!!

 Bad Kitty! Yes, she is young, and definitely come across as a little lacking in intelligence. Using the word boring when talking about her journey home was not a very wise move, and there were other gems. But I doubt that brains were a requirement in the McHouse.
Or the little snot was getting him back for his "mechanical" comment. I don't think E meant that in a derogatory manner - it was part of a larger statement. But people picked up on just that part of his comment and played on it. So she's getting back at him.
Like his height matters with Talent like that. Elliott may not be a giant phsyically, but he towers over her in in every way - voice, personality and on and on.
And I am so happy that I will never have to witness McPapa's McFake tears ever again. He's probably heard Kat sing a million times. Give me a break! Elliott's every tear was a gem - so full of love and joy and humanity. And if he cries at emotional moments all through his long and successful career, it will always be real. And we will always love him.
:D

I was too busy writing - I get rather wordy so I missed your post. Please enlighten me -- I cannot make out what they're saying -- a little deaf and my speakers are quite inadequate. I must burn my Elliott downloads to a CD and play it on a decent stereo. I always cranked the TV when E was singing on IDOL.
What's your take on the interview.

My take is that people are refusing to set their bias for this girl aside and just listen to the interview. If it was someone you didn't know how would it come across? She complimented everyone. Talked about having a crush on Ryan and he asked would she ever date any of the guys and she said no. She said they were all cute but that until the show they were just like normal people on the street that you wouldn't think twice seeing. Then you put them in makeup and give them a stylist and bam. (basically)

Trust me, if anyone would like to accuse her of being nasty, it's me. I just didn't get that at all from this particular interview. I actually thought to myself that if I didn't know anything about her personality before this, it would have been a fun and cute interview and I would have enjoyed it.

Yamingirl, you are absolutely right. I didn't hear anything that even remotely resembled "blasting" in this interview. She seems a little immature & shallow, but that's it.

I agree with you, but you left out "whiner," LOL.

It's fine to not agree that kat is a moron, but I feel that her interview further exemplified why most people don't like what they see/hear when it comes to katharine. We have simply gone off of what the girl has given us. Most people do not like her. So what?

Scurvous - May 26, 2006 10:53 PM (GMT)
I've been on these boards for a little while now, and I'm just not convinced that Kat is the witch that people make her out to be. I love Elliott just as much as the next Yaminion but I'm fairly indifferent to Kat. I've said that I don't care for her singing, that about it. The kissfm interview hasn't changed my mind yet.

Because it's clear that you're taking every little thing she says and making it negative (not YOU just you guys in general). Sure I hate the girl and she's said some things in the past (taking credit for the hair) that made me want to kill her but there's nothing wrong with this interview. Maybe it's not the best she could have done but given who this girl is, I'd say it was a pleasant one.

When I listened to the interview, I actually didn't think it was all that bad as what some people were making it out to be. But when you explain to someone else the kinds of things she said, it really does sound a whole lot worse. So....I don't know.

Speaking solely for myself, what is being revealed about Katherine, overall and even more so now that she is allowed to talk outside of the AI bubble, is that she is truly unpolished. In other words, she is the exact opposite of everything she has been portrayed to be the entire season on AI (including by herself and her parents). And, because so much was said about Elliott's looks, or NOT said about his great talent, it begins to be very apparent how socially inept and immature Katherine is, while we see Elliott repeatedly demonstrate enormous growth as a singer and performer, in speaking and interviewing, and in CHARACTER.

Everything we were ALLOWED to know about Katherine, everything her parents SAID about her, everything she TRIED to project about herself in dress and song choice said "I am a trained, experienced diva that deserves this title because I can sing, act, look gorgeous and be a role model for today's youth."

What I believe upsets us is that by the time we were down to the final five, any objective person could see that she was not nearly as talented in singing, that she could not act, could not perform on stage, that she whined and wimpered whenever she was criticized, and that she relied way too heavily on the skin factor (in her audition, she didn't even wear make-up and did NOT wear revealing clothing until she hit Hollywood) for votes. In other words, the created image was cracking with every show we SAW with our OWN eyes.

Now that she is opening her mouth, we see that she is not polished in speaking, either. She doesn't think about what is asked of her, she doesn't speak well, she doesn't have much of interest to say, and she is not a well-spoken person for someone who has been to the Boston Conservatory, trained in classical voice, and already performed in theater. Compared to Elliott, she sounds very immature. We see her with a 41 year old boyfriend, revealing clothing, and unable to say much of anything. Where is the role model for youth in all this?

So, given that we already have negative feelings about her because of the loss she caused Elliott to endure (whether good or bad, justly or not...that's not the issue, here), this additional look into the person that McPhee is just rubs us the wrong way.

Now, I want to add to this. In the AI Extra interview last night, she was asked by Ty Treadway what she learned from all the star coaches during the season (Stevie Wonder, Bocelli/Foster, Manilow, Rogers, Mottolla) that she will take with her into her future as a star. This is a very good interview question, and we could SEE the difference in Elliott week after week as he soaked in every word from these men and still talks about what they gave him.

Her response (paraphrasing)? "Ummm....well....ummmm....I can't think of anything....I don't know....well...they didn't really say too much other than about the particular songs we were working on."

So, there you go. What can one think when someone was with the greats in the song and music industry and she didn't manage to get a single thing from them to make her a better singer, performer, star, diva, role model, person?

Nuff said. :machinegun: :kitty2:

brwneydgirl - May 27, 2006 07:37 AM (GMT)
Great post ElliottCat! You are right. Elliott always commented on what he took away from the different musical guests. He really listened to them, learned from them, and seemed to really appreciate their guidance. He has come across as very well-spoken, too.

Wow, normally I try and stay out of anything that involves Kat, but I just had to post. Really great response. I'm glad to see an educated reason in why so many people dislike (I am not saying hate) her instead of the normal 'ooommmgg she is such a bitch, ugggh,' stuff.

I thought of Kat as that type of person from day one. Someone whom always got what she wanted, HATES constructive criticism, I would crack up at her remarks.."well, I didn't choose the song"...etc...BUT we can't hate her for robbing Elliott's place in the finale, it all had to do with the voting, which still boggles me that most of chris's fans would vote for Kat..but...getting back to her personailty, I never liked it, never thought she was mature by the way she responed, and am NOT one bit surprised at the way she speaks when being interviewed. Is Elliott a better person? well, from what we read, and HEAR, 100% true, sincere, and appreciative to the core.
