Title: Eyfan Videos On Youtube

rainy - June 2, 2008 06:16 PM (GMT)
Hi everyone, I was just over at You Tube getting my fix when I discovered they have removed all of EYfan videos of Elliott (violations of use) What is going on? Eyfan's videos were a barometer of Elliott's airplay..She had created such a loving testimony to Elliott's rise..Can anyone tell me what happened?

Aw, that is a tragedy! I wonder if Idol is cracking down on videos? It looks like the (non)videos of the songs from his album are still up.

ETA: I just checked, and the simoncowell posted videos are still up, so you probably will still be able to watch all the videos from the show.

Why did they take it off, I watch those video's EVERYDAY!!.

Especially "A Song For You" That had almost 800,000 views, I always rated all his videos.

Its been up over two years, is it illigal?

I just looked and it indicated that EyFan's account is suspended. :noway:

Check out this site. It's been posted in the Music Forum for awhile now.

An ASFY clip is still out there, but it is from another YouTube member:

What a shame, those video's were priceless !

yellin4yamin - June 2, 2008 10:28 PM (GMT)
great, one of the video tributes I made for E had photos I got off the AI site too, so mine will probably be next;( They should just suspend the videos that may be in violation, but not the ones that are NOT;(

*edited to say I took down the tribute to Elliott and his mom...and my tribute to Elliott..the brightest star one. I will have to load them to my photobucket instead, but I should be legal now* :fangirly:

Yellin,

I hate to be the one to disappoint you, but you will not be "legal," but you will me much safer. In fact, you will most likely be very safe.

I also hate that those of us with the only intention of sharing with each other and with other Elliott fans, have to feel bad about it if we don't share and feel guilty about it if we do. But that's the nature of the Internet right now.

Technically, anything that includes all or a part of something you did not create yourself (such as the song in your video) is subject to copyright. I'm not much into YouTube but my guess would be the majority of videos. Home videos are the exception. The owners (Google) of YouTube know this. They just ignore it until they get a complaint. There's a huge court case going on now between Viacom and Google over copyright issues.

I know I am in violation of copyright when I capture a radio interview and upload it to my web site and then share it. That's why I try to minimize the risk by having it available for a short time and then removing the link. Probably the radio station doesn't care; but they could. And being a wimp :) , I don't want to be getting any letters from lawyers. I've been thinking of a better alternative for quite a while now. I'd welcome suggestions.

the only videos I have there now are the videos of Elliott's performances I took myself at his shows of either him, Josh, or The Last Goodnight...so hopefully, that would mean I am safe where I took them myself, and there was no rule at the shows about not videoing right? Elliott even comes over to me in one of them and waves..lol;) I don't know about the songs, the record companies..that part of it though. Any videos I "made" with photos taken from another site etc, I took down. I was very leary about posting them in the first place to youtube!! ;)

You are definitely safe if they are your own videos.

This site (I have no idea what language/country this is) has tons of E videos. I hope linking it doesn't cause problems. If you think it will, I'll remover the link:

http://www.fooooo.com/search.php?q=yamin+Elliott&yo=0

All the ones people are missing from You tube are here.

OUCH! And the videos have been up for 2 yrs? Double OUCH!

Looks like AI learned this year it can make a bunch of money selling on itunes. It's probably related. I'm thinking youtube got a threat from AI with this years videos. They were on sale on itunes and many put them up on youtube. Then youtube decided to get rid of anything AI video related. They usually warn you 3 times though before they pull your account... talking first hand.

I'm glad I turned to megavideo, but who knows how safe it will be.

edited to hopefully something closer to English :)

eta: on second thought, this years videos are still up???

I got a warning for posting the video I took of Elliott and Daughtry at the AI Concert....so I think it all depends.

merrr - June 3, 2008 03:21 AM (GMT)
Nooooo!!! This is a disaster! I will really miss those videos! I had a whole playlist of them!

mel0207 - June 3, 2008 04:26 AM (GMT)
So sorry to hear this. :( How aggravating.

But thanks for the links to other sites everyone. :elliottelliott:

I'm confused... I can still find many Elliott videos on youtube? perhaps it was another type video that they warned about.

LilRedDevilLizzy - June 3, 2008 12:01 PM (GMT)
That is such a shame.

Hi, EYFan here! I posted in another thread, and someone pointed me to this one.

One of my 4 accounts had a video of Jason Castro's 1 minute appearance on Jay Leno. It was reported for copyright infringement. I thought they just deleted the video, but apparently they have disabled all accounts associated with my email address, and deleted all the videos.

Linda4Elliott - June 4, 2008 10:57 PM (GMT)
hey Amee!! So sorry about your accounts :( Your videos will be missed, for sure!
