I know this is long, but I actually edited it way, way down cause so much happened! But I'll try to keep it short.
The buses arrived around 1. The crowd of people waiting to meet the Idols (about 50 people) started getting all excited (screaming, waving signs, etc). Now I’ve gone early to attempt to meet the idols at this venue before, and the routine has always been that the Idols get off the bus, wave to crowd, go into arena, get settled in, and then come out – IF they decided to come out at all (which they don’t always)! So when David Cook stepped off the bus, I expected him to head toward the arena… Wasn’t I surprised when he stepped off the bus and immediately began walking RIGHT TOWARDS US!!! It was like we were his #1 priority, and it was AWESOME! =D The rest of the guys followed - carrying their luggage and all lol - and the girls followed shortly there after.
The first one to actually make it to me (there was a long line of people) was Jason Castro. That morning –last minute and rushed- I had decided to make myself a Jason t-shirt. Well the first thing he says to me is “I like your shirt!” And then he gave me the cutest smile. Meanwhile my mom is standing next to me, and she actually took a long time making her shirt and he didn’t say anything to her haha. So she’s like “What about my shirt?!” and Jason looks at it and says “Oh…. I couldn’t see it cause your hair was covering it… sorry.” haha I felt bad for my mom, but it was kinda funny! he sounded sooo sleepy. I told him how much I love his video blog, and asked him why exactly he couldn’t do it anymore, and he started explaining to me what had happened (security purposes, some venues don’t like you recording in them, etc). Then he said something about being really nervous and my mom asked “we make you nervous? Sorry” and he said “well it’s not really nerves. It’s just that it’s so early….” haha and it was like 1:30 in the afternoon when he said that :P
Even though he was tired, Jason was so much fun and seemed truly happy
The next person to make it to us was Brooke White. She is GORGEOUS in person! She couldn’t talk, but when she got to us, she waved a VERY enthusiastic “HI!” Then my sister told her she had beautiful hair, and Brooke mouthed “THANKS!!” Then she started motioning that her hair was all a mess (and made this funny face to demonstrate it). I asked her if the reason she couldn’t talk was that she was sick. She shook her head no, and then pointed to herself and started making “blah, blah, blah” motions with her hands, so I asked her if it was because she talked too much. Bingo! She kind of laughed and nodded her head yes (haha silly Brooke, always talking! :P)
Even though she couldn't talk, Brooke was sooo friendly and sweet! And, as it turns out, she is a great mime!
David Cook is taller than I expected.. for some reason, I always thought he was short! He was very nice to all his fans. I noticed that someone had autographed his hat, and I asked him who it was. He told me that it was a guy in some band (he named the guy and the band, but since I didn’t know them it went in one ear and out the other) that he is a big fan of and who had come to their show the night before. He said “The guy walks up and goes, ‘Man, I’m a huge fan!’ and I’m like ‘AAHH!! No way! I’M a huge fan of yours! AAHHH!!” Then he started reenacting for us the way he freaked out when meeting this guy – complete with excited fan girly scream!
Cook is GREAT to his fans. This was taken when he came out the second time specifically to meet a group of his fans -all dressed in his tour color, red - that had come too late to meet him before.
The next person over to us was Carly Smithson. Now I am a huge Jason Castro fan. But as far as favorites go, I was always torn between Jason and Michael. I voted for them both every week until Michael went home. Since I was wearing a Jason shirt, I asked my sister to make me a Michael sign, and she did! (I got a LOT of strange looks for wearing the Jason shirt and carrying a Michael sign! lol) Carly came over, signed my autograph, and then she spotted my sign. She said “Oh, what is this sign?!” and pulled it out of my hands. She read it over a couple of times with this smirk on her face. She turned to Michael and shouted “Have you seen this?!” He didn’t hear her, so didn’t respond. She read the sign one more time… And then she started pretending to try to destroy it! She pretended she was going to tear it in half, then trample it under her feat, etc. haha it was SUCH a strange reaction! Then, still holding my sign, she took off toward Michael. She thrust it in his face so he would see it. He was kind of far away, so I couldn’t hear him too well, but I did see him get this huge grin on his face and say something like “This is cool!” Then Carly started bringing it back over to my sister and I, and Michael followed! haha he went past all these other people and came right to us! =D

Michael Johns came excitedly over to us and said “I love the sign! That’s great!” and he started to sign our autographs… Then he spotted my Jason shirt. haha oops! He made this funny little disappointed face, and I just smiled sheepishly and held up my Michael sign. Then he laughed and shrugged and was like “eh, I don’t really care that you’re wearing that…” I thanked him for taking the time to come out and greet us all, and he said “Are you kidding me? It’s the least I can do! You guys are the reason we’re all here! This is nothing compared to what you’ve all done for us!”
It was VERY windy yesterday, and people's autographed pictures kept being blown away in the wind. Michael kept picking up the pictures that would blow to the other side of the barricade and returning them to their owners
Michael started continuing down the line of people when Ramiele came up to him. She started saying that she wanted to go somewhere to eat (she named a place, but I couldn’t understand) and he said “Yeah I know! We’ll go there in a few minutes…” I asked Ramiele where they wanted to go eat and she said (sorry if I spell this wrong) “Chick Fill-A!” I told her that I had never heard of it before (as you can tell by my not knowing how to spell it! lol) and she GASPED and said “REALLY?! It’s his (pointing to Michael) favorite place! It’s so good!” We then asked her for her autograph and she said “Sure! Do you have a pen?” I started to grab the sharpie I had been handing people, but I couldn’t find it! I told her “I think I gave someone my sharpie and never got it back….” And she said “I bet it was Michael, he does things like that…” then she leaned in close and said “Don’t tell him I told you, but he’s like that. He’ll just take anything from anyone.” haha it was really funny!
Ramiele... The words "tiny" and "cute" don't do not even begin to describe her :P
David Archuleta was one of the first ones out there, and he was by far the last one to leave. SUCH A SWEETHEART! When he got to us, the first thing I noticed was his shirt. I told him “That shirt is really weird! =D ” And he said “Oh my shirt? Yeah it is, I really like it. I got it at Target” Then he started happily talking about how he liked it cause it had music on it, and how he got all kinds of music shirts at Target, and how everyone always thought this one part on the shirt was a tag (and I must admit, at first I thought it was, too! lol). So we were having a good ol time talking about his cool shirt... Or at least I *thought* we were having a good, happy time... but then after I get my pic with him he says in this quiet, sad voice “I’m sorry you don’t like my shirt.” It was so sad the way he said it! I felt so bad that I made him feel that way! I had to explain “No! I DO like your shirt! I just said it was weird, but I like weird!” And then he giggled an Archie giggle and said “oh, okay!”
David and his shirt that I said was strange -- but I did NOT say I didn't like it!
Syesha and Chikezie came by when I was distracted by other people, so I didn't really get a chance to talk to them, and Kristy went by really fast. I said "Congrats on the record deal!" And she said "Thanks! I'm excited." and that was it.

Also, this top 10 is so nice that they not only came out once, but 6 of them came out twice! Syesha came out and saw that a bunch of Cook fans had arrived too late to meet him, so she signed autographs and such and then went into the arena and told Cook that people were looking for him. Then he came out, did autographs/pictures, etc. He saw an Archie fan there and decided to go back inside and send Archie out. So then Archie came out, followed by Chikezie and later Kristy.
Jason went into his bus to nap, and when he came out he was running late for the meet&greet. By that point a TON of Castro fans had arrived, and they all started yelling for him to come over. He tried to ignore them, but he got about 8 steps towards the arena before he turned around and signed as many autographs and took as many pictures as he could in the 3 minutes he was given. He just couldn't ignore the fans!

I did! I got my pic with Jason, both Davids, Michael, and Brooke... Almost Carly, but then she saw the poster and went nuts! lol
But I hate the way I look in them haha so I will probably never post them :P

I know exactly what you mean. I actually thought of her yesterday when I was meeting them all, and how this time last year we were exchanging Chris Richardson stories... She was such a fun person.

Just thinking the girls didn't come out much in Season 5. I'm glad to hear they are all out. You're lucky though I think because it's the beginning of the tour. They might be tired come the mid of Aug when I get to see them. Especially Jason lol (he better not be).

No, you don't have to have tickets to the show. Just go to the venue around noon the day of the show and wait with the crowd. The girls next to me didn't have tickets, but they decided to buy some after meeting them all :P

HI Y'all, I will be meeting the Idols on Wednesday July 9, 2008 here in Sacramento,CA at Arco Arena. I'm excited to meet the Idol's, but I'm not as excited as when I meet the one and only Funky White Boy Elliott Yamin! I hope to have great pictures and recap by the end of the week. The one I want to meet the most is David Archuleta! Even if he didn't win American Idol with everything he has already done he has won American Idol in my heart! David A. is an American Idol! I'm also very excited that David Archuleta has signed a record deal with Jive Records! I think its Emazin a great voice comes out of that little body of David Archuleta! :chloe: 4 LIFE!!!

| HI Y'all, I will be meeting the Idols on Wednesday July 9, 2008 here in Sacramento,CA at Arco Arena. I'm excited to meet the Idol's, but I'm not as excited as when I meet the one and only Funky White Boy Elliott Yamin! I hope to have great pictures and recap by the end of the week. The one I want to meet the most is David Archuleta! Even if he didn't win American Idol with everything he has already done he has won American Idol in my heart! David A. is an American Idol! I'm also very excited that David Archuleta has signed a record deal with Jive Records! I think its Amazin a great voice comes out of that little body of David Archuleta! :chloe: 4 LIFE!!! |

HI Y'all, I just found a great story in my local newspaper The Sacramento Bee intitiled IDOLS ON THE ROAD with Michael Johns By Leigh Grogan. I have a scanner, but I need help posting the story on the Etrain. Can anyone help me post this story on the Etrain? I'm sure everbody would want to read this story because it'a a great story! yep yep! Show up around noon and look for the buses/large-group-of-people-waiting-for-the-Idols-to-arrive! LOL

haha I don't know, I guess she was just being silly...? haha cause she kept smiling really big when she would look at it, and she did bring it over to him to make sure he saw it (and then showed him where I was). I know she and Michael are friends... haha but it was still strange and a bit confusing! :P
