I got my tickets today. Pretty good ones, I guess - on the 1st base line.

I love Elliott and I've gone to a tennis match and a NASCAR race in Richmond to hear him sing the N/A. This one I think I'm going to have to pass up cause I have to lead a ride early on Saturday morning and I want to be rested so I don't get them lost. LOL

Is this the stadium that Elliott went to when he came home on the final 3? What a trip to come back two years later more popular than ever. Did I hear they were going to do something to the stadium?

There was an article in the Richmond Times-Dispatch back in January (that I can't seem to access) that reported on speculation over the possibility of the Richmond Braves leaving Richmond amidst a proposal to demolish the Diamond Stadium and build a new facility. I haven't followed it though so I'm not sure what the latest is, other than this may be the Braves' final season at The Diamond.

It is indeed the Braves final season at the Diamond. They will be moving to a town just outside Atlanta. We're still not sure when or if we'll have baseball in Richmond again.

I don't think they have. They are still trying to court another baseball team into town and I guess that will drive the decision.

I just read a few days ago, there are several baseball teams interested in relocating to Richmond. Nothing can happen until the Braves leave. They have the option to play here in 2009 if the new stadium in GA is not ready for them in time.

For those of you who are worrying about seating and how good your seats are: There is NEVER anyone there and I can tell you will be able to sit pretty much anywhere you want.
The Braves are not very popular, even in their last year. But I will be there.

Wasn't it SOLD OUT when Elliott was there for his Homecoming in May 2006? Can't remember how many thousands of people were there.....the largest crowd ever because of Elliott. This could happen again !!!!

HI Y'all, It's great Elliott Is going back to his hometown of Richmond Virgina and singing The National Anthem at the Richmond Braves game on August 15, 2008! Elliott always sings The National Anthem brillant! I'm very happy to all Etrainers that are going to the game! I will be there in spirit and in all your hearts!
