Title: Hell's Kitchen

mommyto2stinkers - May 27, 2006 11:48 AM (GMT)
Anyone watch it? I did last year and it was really good! It starts again June 12th and I can wait to see what he puts the cooks through?

Kavla - May 27, 2006 12:44 PM (GMT)
I didn't watch it last year but I may tune in this time around. I actually know one of the contestants. The one that gets yelled at for sweating in his food? His name is Tom.

mommyto2stinkers - May 27, 2006 12:51 PM (GMT)
Thats great! Maybe if you do watch it you can give us some insights from him if you can. Gordon Ramsey is rough on the outside but from what I hear hes acctually a pretty nice guy away from tv.

Wahntchre - May 28, 2006 07:27 AM (GMT)
I watched the show last year. It's amazing how terrible they were, but eventually things ran smoothly near the end of the season.

I recall that every single contestant last year smoked. shame on them.

I also remember that my favorite person won. :bunny:

wee_moggie - June 8, 2006 10:32 PM (GMT)
I, too, am eagerly awaiting the new season of "Hell's Kitchen!"

Does anyone watch "Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares"? It's on BBC America on Wednesday nights. Gordon Ramsay goes into restaurants that are not doing well and tries to help them, in his own particular way, of course!

akaphd08 - June 9, 2006 03:11 AM (GMT)
I think I might watch... is it anything like Top Chef? I loved that show!

Did they all smoke? I know a good number of them did but didn't think they ALL did.. sheesh.

And the guy I was cheering for won woo! Whatever happened to him? I know the runnerup guy was on Iron Chef America (not sure if anything else)... but I don't think I've seen anything of the winner.

I can't wait till monday though! I just can't believe how unprepared and bad some of these people are. They should know what they're getting themselves into by now.

VotedElliott2hrs - June 11, 2006 03:04 AM (GMT)
Should be good. I might watch it. I never know when anything is on anymore.

miyagimayday - June 13, 2006 02:19 AM (GMT)
I like Heather :rocker:

LOTR Fan 71281 - June 13, 2006 02:52 AM (GMT)
That show was great. Heather is the person I'm rooting for. I'm a guy but I'm for the ladies on this one. The guys are asses.

Amunet - June 13, 2006 04:07 AM (GMT)
Is Heather the one that go burned?
Yeah she seemed cool.
I dunno why she wants another woman to go to the top 2 so bad....I'd just be worried about myself getting there.

I love this show though. I love seeing the rich snooty people getting cussed out... even though I'd be mad for not getting served too :P heh
These cooks are turning out pretty crappy so far though. I thought they would've done ALOT better than they did.
I want that one girl gone next... the salad chef

akaphd08 - June 13, 2006 04:34 AM (GMT)
Yikes, is the Chef always that mean?! This is my first time watching... I watched Top Chef on Bravo and I was expecting something similar...

Amunet - June 13, 2006 08:08 AM (GMT)
Oh heck yeah he's always that mean.
He gets downright abusive.... I think it's hilarious :P

Janizzle - June 13, 2006 04:42 PM (GMT)
I LOVE Hell's Kitchen! It was so great last year, finally something different on TV! Heather is really good, I'm rooting for her! I think the girls have a great chance, but Sara is sooo annoying! I love love this show, I'm already hooked.

Ramsay makes Simon look like a wimpy little girl...

mommyto2stinkers - June 13, 2006 05:38 PM (GMT)
I think Gordon Ramsey is a such a doll!!! Hes so much more opinionated than Simon and he has a dirty mouth but that makes him him. I wouldn't mind him coming into my kitchen and giving me a few tips but not cuss me out. Last night he made them go into the garbage bins and look at all the food they wasted. Did they ever waste the food lol. I wonder whats going to happen to Heather now that she burned her fingers. As I said before I don't like Tom. He got on my nerves last night and I didn't think Gabe should have gone last night. I watched Hell's Kitchen last season and that season was tame compared to this season and I can't wait til next week to see what happens.

Cheetah521 - June 13, 2006 06:40 PM (GMT)
I thought it was really good, i didnt plan on getting hooked on it, i really like Heather! That one girl Sara gets on my nerves and i KNEW Gabe was going home after that comment he made to that other guy about his sig dish at the beginning! I also loved how the chef cussed out that one customer who wanted more pumpkin in his dish!

LOTR Fan 71281 - June 14, 2006 01:54 AM (GMT)
Can't wait till it's on again.

Janizzle - June 14, 2006 03:00 AM (GMT)
I already hate the guy who sweats everywhere...though he did cut that steak pretty well. I think he's gonna be on the show for awhile though...and poor Giacomo. I like his hair!

Btw, who are these people who go to eat at Hell's Kitchen? They must not value their health, lol...

Apparently not, lol. But I wouldn't mind going just to check it out. The chances of actually eating are slim anyway. I believe the restaurant is about twenty minutes from where I live.

I enjoyed the show last night. Chef Ramsey was pretty mean last season, but I think he's kicked it up a notch.

The girl who burned her hand (Heather?) is my favorite. I like the way she handles herself.

wee_moggie - June 14, 2006 06:21 PM (GMT)
I'm rooting for Heather also.

It it just me, or are these contestants worse cooks than last season's? What kind of test do you have to pass to become a contestant?

Karen

Yeah they do seem to be worse.
You would think that they would've wanted to set the bar higher this time, but I guess not.
They must've picked some obviously bad people just so he would cuss im out more to make good tv :P heh

Elliotyael - June 14, 2006 09:39 PM (GMT)
maybe its deja vu..but i thought i posted in this thread, but now i cant find my post lol..
mabye it was another post ^ ^;;
but anways i love this show! I loved it last season so i was eager to see this one. Everyone seemed so full of themselves at first though, so i couldnt really pick a chef i liked this time lol
But Heather was pretty awesome, she kept doing her job even though she got burned. Ive been burned before ( and it was also the hand lol ) and it hurts like h-e-l-l ..lol and keeps hurting way after it was burned. She gets 100 kudos points, hehe.
i liked the part , too when he showed them how much food they wasted. Its an important lesson and its a big no no to waste ingredients at any resturaunt, but especially an upscale one. Those ingredients are expensive. And i think that being wasteful is a really bad thing anyways lol.

Edub - June 15, 2006 04:02 AM (GMT)
I ended up watching most of last season on fox reality during my flight to ny... and it seemed alright, i'm trying to get into it more this year since I have a huge void after getting so invested in ai this season!

I'm with LOTR- gotta go with Heather- don't really like anyone else. Sarah annoys me and the guys are pr*cks... the guy who sweated all over the veggies was straight nasty!! :( :rotfl: :rotfl:

Amunet - June 20, 2006 03:46 AM (GMT)
Alright... I don't like Heather anymore.. that whole stupid women empowerment bullcrap she was spewing made me sick.
Girl power and all that is alright if you stay positive, but the girl just aint got a sense of humor in her.

Oh it's alright for the women to gloat gloat gloat... but oh no! The men better not have any comebacks!

She's on my poo list.. specially sense she was saying all that mess about losing to a girl when she didn't even participate in the freaking challenge.

The only one that I somewhat like now is Sara... the rest of them.. pfftt.. they're all idiots.

Janizzle - June 20, 2006 04:13 AM (GMT)
I'm starting to kind of dislike Heather too. I think she's kind of bossy, and that's not cool. I like the other two ladies who get less camera time, they seem cool. I totally hate Sara. She is an idiot, she said so herself! And she's always got this nasty smirk on her face, lol.

But what was up with the DOUBLE STANDARD??? Heather can get help for her burn but Tom can't? He's being a "drama queen"?? What the heezy?

Cheetah521 - June 20, 2006 02:52 PM (GMT)
I must be the only one who still likes Heather, i can see why she gets on your nerves though with the bossy attitude. Sara annoys me she just acts like a child too much, get over it. And is anybody else waiting for the guys to get in an actual fist fight?

Sapphire - June 20, 2006 06:16 PM (GMT)
Is it just me or do all the guys suck? Seriously, Chef R. could have sent them all home and I would have been cool with that.

I was beginning to like Sara until she called herself an idiot on national TV.

Heather is still my favorite to win, but I'm glad she was taken down a peg. She needs to stay on her game.

I thought the same thing. I was watching the show with my brother and he thought Tom's burn wasn't as bad as Heather's.

QUOTE

I don't know... We may actually see a fist fight between Heather and one of the guys first. :D

Amunet - June 21, 2006 04:22 AM (GMT)
I don't see wht the big deal is about Sara calling herself an idiot.
I think she was just trying to make a point and well.. didn't do it very well heh.

I forgot about the other 2 women cooks that barely get shown.
The older blonde haired woman seems to be ok so far. Hasn't done anything to annoy me.
Maybe she'll pull a shocker and win the whole thing.

Sapphire - June 27, 2006 03:34 PM (GMT)
Please tell me you all watched Hell's Kitchen last night because that show was too funny.

Berkana - June 27, 2006 05:11 PM (GMT)
I watched it last night. I'm glad Tom is gone. Now they just need to get rid of Sara. Goodness I felt sorry for Virginia.

wee_moggie - June 27, 2006 11:15 PM (GMT)
I'm glad Tom is gone; he always bugged me. I love how at the end, you hear Gordon's voiceover, as Tom was leaving, saying, "He has a big heart, but he's such a crap cook!"

I also would like to see Sara gone. I hate how she gets all smiley when others are being put down.

miyagimayday - June 28, 2006 05:18 AM (GMT)
I still like Heather above the others

I am glad that Tom's gone too....He just doesn't act like a chef at all...and can he really cook?!

I want to slap Sara's face....her smirk laugh.... :poke:

Wahntchre - June 28, 2006 05:38 AM (GMT)
Darn! I missed an episode!!! :(

Same here. Before this last episode, I thought Sara could be a contender, but she showed her worst side. I hope she's next to go.

Tom stayed longer than I expected so his elimination wasn't a big surprise. I wish him well.

Heather's still my pick to win.

kristene5 - June 30, 2006 06:17 PM (GMT)
Heather is my pick to win, also. My husband is a Restaurant Manager and I used to be Kitchen Manager/Chef. To me Heather is the only one with the capability to be a top chef. I am actually very disappointed in the candidates this season. Still love the show, though!

wee_moggie - July 21, 2006 05:55 AM (GMT)
Did anyone else find it funny when they were doing the taste test, and Gordon had made all the dishes out of common foods and disguised them as more sophisticated foods, and Keith commented on the hot dogs being disguised as some pate, "What's wrong with hot dogs? Hot dogs are slammin'!" My husband and I were howling over that! I've been going around the house saying, "Hot dogs are slammin'!" ever since.

:D

Oh man I love to do impressions of that guy! He sure seems like he's got major issues though LOL

Did anyone watch the season finale last night?

I did Sapphire.

I guess I was a little dissapointed Virginia didn't win. LOL. Oh well.

I can't believe Virginia chose Tom, and Giacomo as her teammates! But Giacomo looked as if he had improved immensely. He was getting out orders on time and etc. He was looking pretty snazzy. (Of course I say this because I'm 18 and have a crush on him but whatever.) I still can't believe she chose Tom! WTF? Guy's a drama queen.

And Keith asking for money what a scumball.

Hee. Heather was my pick at the very beginning, but toward the end, I wanted to see Virginia take it. That would have been good TV. The salad chef that everyone underestimated... But she wasn't ready. I think with more training and experience, she will be a great chef one day. She gave Heather a good fight. And perhaps she would have won if she had chosen a better team.
