Title: Bullentin Thread Is Needed
Description: After the scare yesterday

Gogo - May 27, 2006 02:12 PM (GMT)
After the scare yesterday, May 26, about Elliott not on ET and possibly sick I would like to suggest a Bulletin Board Thread. In other words, when something like this happens we won't have to go through hundreds of postings to find the answer or resolution to the rumor or question.

One of the Administrators could post that the answer is coming and when it does give us the answer and lock the thread so there would be NO postings. This way when there is a REAL concern, as there was yesterday, we won't be searching, and searching, and searching for the answer. I'm tired of the OMG postings and the OTG postings and no real answer because its buried in a long thread.

I appreciate everyones concern. I was too. But it just proliferates the problem trying to find the answer.

It you need to have the Bulletin Board in "The Man", "The Updates", and the "Group Huddle".

I agree. Yesterday was horrific and having a bulletin thread would really help to stop a lot of the anguish we were experiencing.

That's a great idea. Reading all the "what's going on!?!?!?!?!?" posts just made me sick to my stomach with worry. It would help alot if we knew where to go for an official announcement.

i wasn't online for the debacle yesterday, but i agree that there should be one of those because NUMEROUS times there are "OMG's" or someone posts a thread that to them is pertinent but the problem|issue|situation has been resolved in previous threads and we end up re-opening a can of worms.

Thanks for your replies. I know that Loth and the other Administrators are working very hard on this site. There are still many things to iron out. :)

I agree! It was ridiculous!

Thanks panmohr. I remember you posting on the AI board. You are always a voice of reason. I have a new name here. I think it would help the administrators and family not to be bombarded with PM's and emails. That invades their privace too. I admit I PM'd Crowe yesterday but I couldn't get any answers from anyone yesterday. I think it would be a controlling mechanism.

I agree that a bulletin on this board would be most helpful. I noticed that even when Cuz Phil posted his message that E was fine and that this was just a case of a scheduling conflict, the rumor and concern fires kept on popping up because people didn't see the message.

A simple bulletin post in cases like this could have saved alot of panic. In fact, a notice before the show aired, before we started freaking out would have been nice.

We're not talking about tracking E's every move here or violating his privacy. This was a pretty extreme case of having all the AI contestants on a major TV show except for E without any explanation. It was natural that people were alarmed. A little heads up would have been great. I'm sure there are legal constraints as to how much can be said, but 1 sentence would have sufficed.

The framework of this board makes it pretty simple to accomodate this request. Please consider it.

Thank you.
