From Reality TV Magazine:
The most memorable breakout performance goes to Elliott Yamin. After Paris Bennett was eliminated, most in the media thought that Elliott Yamin was certain to be next. During the early stages of the competition, American Idol producers treated Elliott like the invisible man. Even as Elliott quietly made his way into the top four, little was known about his background. That was until Elliott Yamin delivered not one but two show-stopping performances during the Elvis performance show. Elliott went from certain elimination to safety in the top two with Taylor Hicks. As Elliott made his way into the top three, millions of viewers got to watch as he returned to his hometown of Richmond, Virginia to be greeted by thousands of cheering fans. Elliott Yamin went from the finalist that nobody knew to the media darling that everybody loved in the course of a week. Seeing a guy like Elliott Yamin be so successful on American Idol reminded viewers why American Idol is the greatest show on television.

They got that right. Elliott OWNED Elvis night, and it finally opened their eyes to how talented he was. Sure took them long enough though.

Me too. I was getting overly annoyed reading the recaps on TWOP where one of the recappers really dislikes Elliott and loves Katharine, and... :yuck: :smash:
*goes to Susan DiPlacido's blog instead* Heh.

Many viewers are probably scratching their heads and wondering how Elliott Yamin made it to the Top Four of America’s most popular television show. He doesn’t look hot hanks for in a tight, yellow dress; he doesn’t put on an impressive stage performance with smoke and fire; and he doesn’t have a Soul Patrol. No, Elliott Yamin has made it to the Top Four of American Idol the old fashioned way, through the pure power of his voice.
Thanks for passing this on... I LOVE this part no truer words have been written.
Beautiful voice! [B]

I loved that write up. Honestly, I do see that the producers ignored him in the beginning.
But then he went and did stuff like that Elvis show and everyones teeth dropped out from shock. I am guilty of the same, only I really sat up and took note of Elliotts talent on the night they performed songs by Queen.
Somebody to Love is my favorite song by Queen and I especially love the version George Michael did with Queen as a tribute to Freddie Mercury.
I was smitten with E's voice when he did sweet justice to that song!

Great accolade for Elliot. However, do not go on to ready the fan comments. While many are laudatory, some are not - and there is one that literally made my jaw drop. Totally spoiled the good vibes of the article for me. I've learned my lesson - read the article - skip the comments.

Elliott is so awesome. I don't know why it took some people so long to realize it. Better late than never, though.
Elliott is da bomb!!! :woohoo:

Thanks for the link. It's great to see Elliott mentioned. He certainly was the BEST and most memorable AI contestant this year (or any other year!)

I agree. I don't know why it took people so long to realize what an awesome voice Elliott has. I'm hoping that he gets more good media exposure, once he is on R & K. What happened to Ellen?
