I do cry, however, for the producers, who have probably lost the only remaining contestant who could deliver them a saleable album. Elliott Yamin can sing, all right, but while he had a good Tuesday and he always impresses the judges, his technical ability is probably lost on the 99% of Americans who are not professional vocal coaches. Katharine McPhee also has the pipes and beauty-queen looks, but she doesn't have the personality or physical coordination to put over a performance, the charisma to win over a big pop audience, or the willingness to dress slutty enough to compensate for either from an album-sales standpoint.

This part...I LOVED!! I am certainly not among the 1% of America the writer refers to as professional vocal coaches, but I know brilliance when I hear it.

A song like "I Believe To My Soul", with the cool, soulful vibe it had, was perhaps not meant for the casual American Idol viewer...those who like their pretty, pre-packaged pop music. But that song...and the performance of it...were outstanding.

And now I can bash a little...Taylor? I think his voice is okay, but he is more of a theme park entertainer for me than an American Idol. His voice is not that unique apart from his appearance and his odd dancing. And don't get me started on Katherine, who I sincerely grew to dislike intensely as the season went on. I don't understand how she could give two lousy performances, one overly long, overly hyped performance, and manage to beat out the likes of Elliott Yamin.

I truly believe Elliott will have the last laugh...I can't see either Taylor or Kat ever being Grammy material, but I sure could see it in the future for Elliott.

There were some not so nice words about Taylor but since I don't really mind him, I didn't quote those.

I was just glad that Tilme magazine recognized Elliott's talent.

Amen, SylviaRebecca.

Well said. Taylor might be a nice guy with a goofy kind of endearing entertainment quality that seems to have captivated America, but it won't sustain. And Katherine will end up being a bigger Divette than Mariah or Whitney combined, but with barely a smidgen of their vocal ability.

Elliott is the one who will blow them both out of the water once the recording begins. Watch his numbers top theirs. Get ready to count the nominations and the Grammy's.

Let everyone associated with AI line up for their slice of humble pie.

NEWSFLASH to Clive, Nigel and Simon....MARKETABILITY. Well, glad he'll be free of them in 3 months. :D
