Title: What Embarasses You?
Description: Just for fun!

ekgcekgc - May 31, 2006 04:27 AM (GMT)
Hey E-trainers, I was just thinking about some embarassing moments, and just decided to start this thread (yeah, I'm a nerd, I know... :P ).
What makes you embarassed?

For me, it's:

1. Waving to someone you thought was waving to you, but he/she wasn't (it was the person next to you/besides you/behind you).

2. Snorting when I laugh too hard.

3. Being around my family when they introduce me to people I don't know, and they start telling the people my whole life story/accomplishments/etc.

4. Tripping/falling/stumbling (the worst happened when I was in college...I was trying to be "cute" and slipped down this little hill, and sprained my ankle. My first thought wasn't "oh my gosh, I'm hurt", it was "oh my gosh, who's around?")

 :headsmack:

Well on the same note...I seem to think strangers are speaking to me when they are really talking into one of those little cell phone ear piece.... I do that in my office building all the time

Rofl... those made me crack up.... :rotfl:

Lets see.. embarassing moments...

In HS.. I fell UP the steps right when this guy I had a crush on was going down them. I was too busy checking him out and trying to be cute so my feet/legs decided to try to skip a step and well.. it didn't end up working too well.

I always trip over nothing. I'm not slick enough to play it off heh...

I have bad hearing... If there is alot of background conversations going on, I have a hard time focusing on what someone is saying to me.
So there have been plenty of times where someone will be talking to me and I won't be able to understand them so I just nod and smile like an idiot cause I don't wanna do the "what did you say? huh? wha?" thing. I know people have come away from a conversation thinking I was a moron heh.

I've done that waving thing too. God that is embarassing. Also did the respond to someone that wasn't talking to me thing too... ugh.

Also something that's pretty embarassing is when people find out I can draw, they want me to draw something for them right then and there. It's embarassing b/c well.. I can't. My quick doodles are terrible (seriously, that's not just me being modest). It takes me a very long time to draw something out and well.. you can't really explain that to people.. so I just try to laugh off their request

Outofmymind - May 31, 2006 12:15 PM (GMT)
Forgetting the names of the people i'm introduced to, 5 seconds later.

My memory sometimes can be very temporary.

Snorting at a lecture just when i wake up, and everyone turns to look at me smiling.

I embarrass myself all the time. Here are a couple.

When I was in HS I would fall up the stairs all the time.

I also had a teacher in HS that would make you go up to the board to answere the math problems and you had to stay there until you got it right, and of course as my luck runs I got stuck with a problem that I had no idea what to do, so I was up there for 20 min feeling and looking like a complete idiot.

Don't remind me of my school years.... Yeah it was embarassing to go up there and not knowing the answers. My math teacher was a nazi. (and she was a close family friend as well  )

My most embarrassing incident EVER happened when I was driving. (BTW I hope I can write this in English, not sure about all the words)

I was driving on a normal 2-lane highway and I knew I'd be turning left in a couple of minutes. There weren't a lot of traffic there at the moment except behind me. Suddenly, for some reason that I can not explain I thought I was on a 4-lane highway. I figured I'd change lanes and get ready to turn left. So I did and drove on the wrong lane for about 15 seconds - until I realized that a car was coming straight towards me!!

I quickly went back to the right lane and just about died from embarrassment. I wonder what the people driving behind me were thinking... Stupid me!!! :hammer:

sheila1221 - May 31, 2006 01:22 PM (GMT)
GREAT job with your English Mallainen!!!

My most embarrassing moment---

Well, I was at a restaraunt with a friend. I was getting really frustrated with the new bottle of Katsup- trying to SHAKE it out. My friend told me a trick to get the katsup to come out. Shake it in a cirular motion (like a tornado) before you open it and it will come right out.

This trick works really well --- when the lid is on!!! Yep -- I didn't have the lid on very well. The lid came flying off and the katsup splattered everywhere -- including the head of the bald guy sitting behind me. He was not amused. The only thing I could do is apologize and cry!!

Funny now! :rotfl: Not so funny then. :clubbed:

Amunet - May 31, 2006 02:44 PM (GMT)
Ehehe.. this thread is hilarious...

Embarasssing moment at the grocery store...

I went and grabbed something while bf was pushing the cart. I come back, start leaning all over the cart watching bf pick fruit. BF turns around and gives me a weird look and quickly informs me that that isn't our cart that I was just leaning on  I'm just glad whoevers cart it was wasn't looking my way during my moment.

Oh yeah... and this is a only me embarassing moment. I had a total brainfart moment and actually forgot how to spell "Why" once. And the bad thing is.. I just couldn't think of how the hell to spell it for what seemed like a long time :P heh

I've driven on the wrong side before too! It was very late at night and the citylights were few and far between. I thought I was in a yellow-lined island but I was really in the opposing lane! Yeek!

pinklady27 - May 31, 2006 05:40 PM (GMT)
Well, apparently I snore...and sometimes it's pretty loud. I fell asleep in a car with a bunch of my co-workers (shortly after I started my job) when we were on our way home from a meeting. I woke up to laughing, only to realize that they all were laughing at me because I was snoring so loudly. Ugh. Not so funny.

Outofmymind - May 31, 2006 05:57 PM (GMT)
I was inside a music store and went outside for a sec to talk to a friend of mine. Problem is... I forgot i was holding an unpurchaced cd in my hands. The alarm went off and 2 big guys approached and grabbed me by the arms. I had a lot of explaining to do for how upsent minded i can be sometimes. Fortunately they let me go.

I also walked out of a store with a shirt in my hands. The alarm went off but luckily the shop assistant believed I did it by accident!

I don't get embarassed too often....

Some of my famous instances...

1) ran into the bus stop or electric pole while walking...many times...
2) fell off the stairs in front of a huge crowd...many times...
3) grabbed some unknown woman's hand and calling her mom....(I wasn't looking....)

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Oh man, those were priceless! It's good when we can laugh at ourselves. But I can identify with the running into stuff...it happened to me one time at the mall. You know those signs/ads they have displayed in the middle of the walkway? I was so busy talking to one of my friends that I tripped on the little leg and ran into the sign! :rotfl:

thecutehippie - June 1, 2006 05:12 AM (GMT)
i do embarassing things all the time!! but the one that comes to mind right now is this one time i came out of a store and went to my taurus to go home and the key wouldn't work...so i kept trying to turn it and i tried opening the other doors and the key just wouldn't work. then this hot guy comes up to me...and wants to know why i'm trying to get into his car. yeah...it looked like mine, but it wasn't. i think i just laughed like an idiot, turned red, and tried to mumble something about what was goin on and then walked off to my own car. lol...i felt like such an idiot!

babygirl164_ever - June 1, 2006 04:00 PM (GMT)
what embarasses me? O my goodness do you all have the time!
1.) falling up or falling down the stairs ( i do them both)
2.) saying something really stupid to someone you don't really know that well!
3.) singing in front of a ton of people and forgetting the words! eek!
4.) spilling food/drink on me while in a resturant!
5.) thinking your mom is right behind in a store and start talking and when
you turn around she's not there!

I 've done it all!

I've done that too, in Walmart. You would think the men's bathroom is on the same side in all Walmarts but they are not!!

One time we were at a fundraiser Bean supper. I went and got my bowl of beans and was going to sit down. The chairs were real close together and as I was trying to get through I spilled my bowl of beans down this mans back :( It was right before our high school football game and he had on his football shirt. I am sure he had to go home and change. I was soooo embarrassed.

i can't announce my rreal most embarrassing moment on the message board, because I think that it would be a bit inappropiate, seeing that there are guys around here too! And the guys would not want to hear about this particular day in my life! lol!
So I will say something else then! I gert really embarrassed when I'm in a conversation with a handsome guy, and everything is going great, then all of a sudden I realize that I am talking to a good-looking guy, and just completely freeze, in the middle of the conversation! I hate it when that happens, and it always happens to me! It's totally my social anxiety, but sometimes I just wish that it never happens, but it does! The guy always seems to get up and walk away from me, because I can never seem to un-freeze myself!

About the guy thing...yeah, sometimes it can get pretty awkward. I find it easy to just make a joke or laugh about something to get out of that "freeze" mode... (but I'm a pretty goofy person, so this might not work for everybody! hehe)

lol, done that too, except it was the men's changing room at the pool and the door opens directly into the shower! YIKES! I almost went blind - ever notice that only the really scary looking people like to get completely naked in public showers?

Okay, I once got off of the skytrain (like the subway only it is up in the air for those who don't know what I am talking about), and I quickly jumped into the car of a friend who was picking me up there. Only I got the WRONG car! LMAO, you should have seen the face of the guy when I just jumped into his car! hilarious!

I embarrass at everything though, my face turns bright red at the slightest embarrassment
