Title: Kat And "the Wonder Woman Thing".....
Mamarazzi - May 31, 2006 01:07 PM (GMT)
Okay, not OUR Wonder Woman. For a moment I thought it was a shout out to Elliott and his lady:

   For the last damn time, could people stop calling Bratharine "bluesy"? Unless of course it's some little-known "bland, glorified cruise ship singer" meaning of "bluesy" of which I'm unaware.
Seriously, if I hit the words "bluesy," "smoky" or "soulful" with reference to her and I can't continue from the hysterical laughter...

I'm still wondering how a girl who can't even pretend to have an emotional connection with a song is going to be able to pull off acting. Seriously, I just don't get it.
Not that Lynda Carter was a stellar actress -- but, I'm not sure Kat could even pull off a performance to match Lynda's.
And if she gets panned by the critics, will McDaddy force them to issue an apology, too?
I just don't get it. They act like there has never been a pretty girl with an OK voice in the history of the world. She's a dime a dozen IMO. I don't see anything unique or fresh about her. Maybe I'm just clouded by my utter contempt for her -- but, the fact that so many people hate her just doesn't bode well for her career. And she wants to be the next Julia Roberts? Please ...

I think acting is her element more then singing. As much as I dislike Kat's personality and singing voice, I can't deny that she is an absulutely stunning woman. Although I think Julia Roberts is way overated, I don't think it's out of line for Kat to have her as a mentor. Personally I would prefer to watch Kat over Julia any day.

She is pretty -- but that still doesn't mean she'd be a good actress. Modeling -- yes, I can see that (and endorsement deals) -- but acting, I'm still not sold on that for her. Maybe Broadway -- but her goo-goo eyes at the camera every week on AI made me a little queasy. I don't think I could take an entire movie with her.

I've used "bluesy" as a knock off word, you have to have soul to sing the blues ( an attempt to create the genre)

I have a theory (yes another one). I think Kat won second place because most of this was in place for her by the time the 4th and 3rd last shows were being recorded. I actually think that these deals were too big for 19 not to cash in on so results might have been changed or skewed.
Actually, I truly believe it. And yet, Katharine has diversity and beauty and even she was not on AI, somehow she would have found her way to celebritydom.
Now its Elliott's turn.

I have never been a fan of Katherine (singing or personality) but kudos to her for all that is coming her way as a result of American Idol.
I can only hope and pray that Elliott will enjoy as much or more success from being on the show. I believe that he is an increadible talent and he will be recognized by the music industry. I must admit it is just killing me that we are hearing things about some of the other idols and nothing of Elliott yet. I realize that this can be a very long process but it doesn't make it any easier.

You can add the word "sultry" to that list too. :glomp:
