Title: Cats Or Dogs?

Outofmymind - June 1, 2006 03:17 PM (GMT)
Another very important public poll. Cats or Dogs?
I vote for Cats. They are cleaner and they are low maintenance.
Plus they don't see you as a popsicle. (usually)

ElliottCat101 - June 1, 2006 03:22 PM (GMT)

Well, considering I have had about 7 cats in my lifetime and 0 dogs, I must go Cat....

...I have a feeling dogs will win though..

et4elliott - June 1, 2006 03:22 PM (GMT)
I LOVE dogs! They give so much more companionship than a cat, IMO. I love hiking, etc. and they are so much company and fun to bring along.

How could you not love this?

Awww! mccornelio, Max looks so much like my Rocky its unreal.

I never took to dogs so much until I got Rocky from a friend. Best breed I've ever owned.

babygirl164_ever - June 1, 2006 03:40 PM (GMT)
I would have to say dogs! IMO because that's all I've ever owned, I have 2
of my own right now! I've never owned a cat, but personally I think cats are adorable too! :)

Exactly. Cats are too snooty, and not much fun. They also make me sneeze.

2lapdogs - June 1, 2006 06:18 PM (GMT)
I have to call it a toss up. I'm owned by both cats and dogs.

sharona - June 1, 2006 06:36 PM (GMT)
:kitty4:

I love dogs too, but cats are very special to me, I'm used to having them around for the past 30 years or so since I was a child and can't imagine my life without them :kitty7:

:kitty1: :kitty3: :kitty5:

:kitty6:

(Sorry about that, they are so adorable I get a little carried away :P)

elliottness - June 1, 2006 10:10 PM (GMT)
Cats for me. I have a Himalayan Persian named Chocolate and I love him dearly. He's part of the family.

kimberlyann32 - June 1, 2006 10:29 PM (GMT)

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DOG MAX IS. WE HAVE A LAB/HUSKY MIX NAMED ROCKY. WE LOVE HIM. CAN'T HAVE CATS BECAUSE MY OLDEST SON IS ALLERGIC TO THEM.

taste_the_reynboe - June 2, 2006 01:39 AM (GMT)
yay kitties.. cause.. idk.. they just seem so graceful.. idk.. i've always loved cats... even though I'm allergic

ekgcekgc - June 2, 2006 01:42 AM (GMT)
I know this may sound silly, but cats have an attitude!! :rotfl:
Seriously, though, I am a true animal lover. I like both cats and dogs, but if I had to choose, I'd pick a dog. Maybe because I've had more pet dogs than anything. On my farm, though, we have cats galore (outside though) to keep "critters" away from the house!

Amunet - June 2, 2006 03:16 AM (GMT)
I love them both, but I voted for dogs.
I love my cats.. love im love im love im... BUT I dread cleaning their litter boxes :eww:
With my dogs.. I can just let im outside for a few minutes and don't have to worry about cleaning anything up heh.

*shrugs* They all do something that annoys me though... but that litter box scooping... :yuck:

Oh my, I hear ya on the litter box thing. Icky!

When I was in my 20's and 30's before I was married, I had cats. My first cat was a Siamese, then a white cat who I found (loved this cat) and she died 11 yrs. later, then a black and white cat named Sox (ran away).

I didn't mind so much then, but once my son was born and I was married, it was too much - and he's severely allergic to cats.

Wahntchre - June 4, 2006 03:16 AM (GMT)
I love all animals (ESPECIALLY ORANGUTANS!!!!!). I voted Dog on this one because I have seven of them and no cats (but I want one).

CathleenSusan - June 4, 2006 05:24 AM (GMT)
I would have to say BOTH cats and dogs. I actually love ALL animals. My cat, Sabrina is like a dog and she is just great. She goes for walks with me and my dog and she loves to *help* me garden lol! Oh, and she also give a mean back rub - yes I am totally serious!

DOGGIES!!!
i have a maltese too! his name is whitley!

but i really want a french bulldog...i screamed [for more reasons than one] when that ford commercial with the french bulldog puppies came on. I LOVE THEM!

Music2MyEars - June 4, 2006 07:23 AM (GMT)
DOGS all the way: they're highly intelligent, affectionate, like 5 yr. old kids, they give unconditional love, will stay clean if they are kept mainly indoors-especially smaller breeds, they're loyal, and the loves of our lives.

I've had Westies, Bichon Frise, Poodles, and Mixed Breeds too. They're like my children. I'm an advocate for rescuing first.

SoulMusicRocks - June 4, 2006 08:17 AM (GMT)
Dogs. I have a Pitbull/Terrier mix.

I want a french bulldog so badly but they are SO freaking expensive.

I love both cats and dogs, and I have a cat and a dog. I voted for cats though. I worked at a feline veterinary hospital, and it doubled my respect for cats. They can be a challenge sometimes and feline medicine is so very different from canine medicine; it's really interesting.

The thing about cats is that they rarely warn you when they are pissed off. Most anyone can tell when a dog is upset and ready to bite, but for people who don't know how to read a cat, it's like a switch just goes off, and they go from "Yea OK, this is cool, pet me" to "F$*& off, I'm done with you" in a matter of seconds. Gotta love 'em.
:)

ECrazy3 - June 6, 2006 03:23 AM (GMT)
I had to vote cats.

I love cats, too, but I'm really a dog person. I like that they are clumsy and falling all over themselves every time they see you. I guess it is the unconditional love they give you. Cats are more independent -- they don't seem to need you as much. And I guess I really like to be needed. :D

Cheetah521 - June 6, 2006 05:25 PM (GMT)
I'm rebeling, i LOVE cats! Lower maintenance! :D

QTgymnast412 - June 6, 2006 06:52 PM (GMT)
I love dogs, I think cats are more independent, but I like dogs more. I think people with different personalities like different animals. I think more introverted people like cats, and more extroverted people like dogs because cats are more independent and dogs are more "outgoing." But that's just my opinion.

I really like both, but if I could only have one it would be a cat.

pinklady27 - June 6, 2006 08:41 PM (GMT)
Gonna have to vote for dogs on this one. Five years ago, I rescued a fox terrier/basenji mix from the humane society and she's my kid. Every night when I come home, she meets me at the door and is ALWAYS excited to see me. I might have had the worst day in the history of bad days, and she always makes me feel better as soon as I open the door. It can be a pain to chase her around the house when it's bathtime and I'm not sure which one of us hates it more when it's time to trim her toenails, but the benefits definitely outweigh any slight downside that there might be to owning a dog.

Yaminized - June 7, 2006 05:55 AM (GMT)
I picked cats.

Mine has a site: http://www.macphile.com/mi-ke/

I'm such a dog person... I had a mutt from the pound for 13 years... had a rottweiler for 11 years too... and an English Bulldog for 2.5 years... seriously the sweetest animals on the face of the planet!! As soon as I move out of my apartment, I plan on getting another English Bulldog :)

ispeakyaminese - June 8, 2006 04:06 AM (GMT)
I can't vote-- I have both! I had several dogs growing up and wasn't into cats until I brought home a stray many years ago. I now have one cat :kitty3: and two dogs!
<--- rruff!
