Title: Media Blitz
Description: June 1 and 2 TV and radio appearances

luvinE - June 2, 2006 04:17 AM (GMT)
Hi, everyone. My first post on any board, anywhere, EVER.

I just had to jump in tonight with my observations.

After watching and listening to all of Elliott’s interviews and appearances today, it has struck me that this media blitz wasn’t planned until after last Wednesdays finale, when they finally woke up to what they had. They blew it BIG TIME.

Anyone agree with me?

TOTALLY!!! e is EVERYWHERE and taylor is no where in sight...kat's interviews show what a McBitch she is so they try to keep hers to obscure radio stations.
they missed the boat on elliott and now he's going to wipe the floor with the ones they pimped SO hard all season.

Totally! :amen:

Could be....I do agree that the producers never did realize what they had until it was too late. However, I think that most of the contestants did the media rounds the week after they were voted off. For elliott, he had rehearsal for the finale that week. So it might just be that this is the first time he could fit it in. But I do agree with you that the media is starting to take more notice of him now, after his outstanding performance at the finale and recent fan outpour. Either way - its all positive for Elliott! :D

Thats true...

But have other second runners up received this coverage a week after the show was over? Maybe, but I guess I wasn't paying attention.

Well Season 2, Clay got more media coverage than Ruben did. But that's a whole other story :)

Hmmm....I'm not sure. Well, I think they were on a lot of the same shows, like Regis and Kelly, and Dayside...etc. But I do think you're right that he is actually in tons of magazines and polls that the others aren't in now. And that he is getting a lot more positive attention in these interviews -- they are focusing a lot on his next career step and acknowledging that he WILL have success outside of the show... plus I think there are a lot of fans who think he should have won it all, which makes for a great story in the media. And once the whole "underdog" thing became clearer - thats always something that the media loves to cover :D

E is gonna be around for a long time. I mean I can't think of another AI contestant that came in third that got this much publicity....Kim Locke had a lot of coverage, but not as much as E.

He's here to stay and I'm sure we'll all make sure of that.

It’s just his being missing in action last Friday for ET with all the other Idols, his comments today about being in business meetings that day, assembling his team, going into the studio in September, telling a radio show caller that he would have something out before her February wedding.

I hope I’m not being overly optimistic, but these were all words out of his mouth, and he has been very careful with what he says. It looks like things are coming together for Elliott. Awesome, isn’t it?
