Title: Please Write To Fox Dayside
Description: And tell them this is unacceptable

akaphd08 - June 2, 2006 04:29 AM (GMT)
Just read Rickey's recap (www.rickey.org) of Elliott's FOX DaySide appearance... he mentions a really nasty comment one of the PAs made about Elliott:

"One really negative thing that happened though was when Jodi and I overheard this awful sound bite from the blonde PA of the show to one of her colleagues as the fans were leaving: “If you were born looking like that you would have thought you were doomed.” I couldn’t believe it. Everybody write FOX News Channel now! What a disgrace."

This is really horrible... please write to Fox News and express your displeasure: dayside@foxnews.

I sure will email them!!!

We FIRST need to know exactly WHO said this and TO WHOM she said it. Writing to Fox about an overheard comment by someone we cannot name will only make us look foolish. I posted a comment on Rickey's site asking for more detailed information. It is unclear if he meant Martha or who it was.

If we cannot name this person, it is best to just not say anything. What affect would it have?

Now, if I had been there and overheard it, I would have gone over to the person and politely asked for her name. She would KNOW that there were going to be repurcussions from that comment that was made too publickly.

Let's use some restraint before we give ourselves, and Elliott, a bad name.

I watched all the other Dayside shows with AI contestants, Chris, Kellie, Paris, Ace, and Mandisa, and by far, Elliott is the one who I felt was made a mockery of.

Even with Kellie and all her antics, they still asked her some good interviewing questions. They had them all sit down to be interviewed except for Elliott. :pissesoff:

while it is upsetting that someone said that about our Elliott, that is no reason to write DaySide. The comment was not made on the air - it was not even publicly made!

The person who said it was rude, yes. Would I tell that person a thing or two if I got the chance? yes. But writing will not do anything. We don't even know who it was that said that..

ElliottMan - June 2, 2006 07:23 AM (GMT)
R u sure that comment is aimed to Elliott? She could have said that to one of the crew backstage.

Amunet - June 2, 2006 07:25 AM (GMT)
Even though they complimented him.. they could've at least done their homework and realized that Elliott was never a freakin bag boy.
And then they proceded along with it like Elliott didn't just say he was never a bagboy!!
I loved the rest of it, specially when the fans got to hug him... but that bagging thing just ticked me off.

Rickey said it was the blonde PA who was doing the cue cards... didn't see any more info than that :(

It's just the result of having such a superficial society. People see what they want to see, and, for many, any slight imperfection is unacceptable.

I hated the Dayside segment, although i thought he handled it VERY well. He got a standing ovation, which was WONDERFUL, and all the hugs and positive comments, but I really despised the 'bagging" episode. To hear about the cue card girl is too much. I looked at some photos of the guy from yesterday and I still don't see what the big deal is.

Like I've always said: FoxNews sucks.

Janizzle - June 2, 2006 11:51 AM (GMT)
Ugh, cue card girl SUCKS. I don't think the bagging thing was all that bad....Elliott subtly made them look like fools I think! Some people just don't get Elliott. Their loss.

koko4elliott - June 2, 2006 11:52 AM (GMT)
What a shame ... if Rickey never put this in his blog, no-one would even know it was said! :(

Really, what's the point of writing them? Even if you found out who said it, what good will it do? Yes, she shouldn't have said it in public, but again - we wouldn't even know about it if it didn't show up on an internet blog.

marksgirl - June 2, 2006 12:16 PM (GMT)
Even though I hated the grocery bagging segment I think they just had their facts mixed up and they were trying to make a point. The guy said something to Elliott about the fact that this is where he was (bagging groceries) and this is where he is now (realizing his dream).
I see no point in emailing Fox about a comment made by a PA that never made it to the air. I think the person who was actually there and heard the comment should email Fox if it upset them that much. I think it is time to stop picking apart every thing that is said and done in every interview. Elliott is a grown man; he can take care of himself and that includes his hair and wearing whatever he wants to interviews.

Exactly. While I really detest the people who can't wait to say something negative about Elliott, why do we want to give them the satisfaction of TALKING UP their negativity? I can understand Rickey's anger, I would be just as pissed off had I been there and heard the comment myself, but really, what does this do other than spread their bs and superficiality over the Internet. The more we talk about it, the more power we give THEM.

He did kinda make them look like idiots. I loved that he did that and oh-so suavely

And all I have to say about the cue card girl (if she truely said it) is, "screw you and the horse you rode in on chicky poo"

The heck with her. I wouldn't waste time writing to that show.

scarlettm512 - June 2, 2006 01:07 PM (GMT)
This is from a cue card girl? He's the one being interviewed -- she is just holding up cards. Which one is doomed exactly?

I wouldn't waste my time. Fox isn't worth it. They suck.

KateyKat - June 2, 2006 01:29 PM (GMT)
I agree--DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! In the grand scheme of things, that little "sound byte" will go into oblivion faster than Richard Simmons turning straight! Let's drop this whole thing, and focus on what's important-- E getting "publicity", which is what DaySide got him. And, as some of the posters here had already expressed, E handled their gaffe very intelligently and without demeaning them, by expressing that he's never been a bagboy. If anyone should be receiving letters-- or even the "pink slip"-- is whoever the producers hired to do "research" on Elliott's work history. I also think that the hosts did a great job of covering for the mistake as well. Elliott is a class act through-and-through, and writing to DaySide (a show that gave Elliott much-needed face time in the general public), will not befit what we, as eFans, stand for. :)

itslate - June 2, 2006 01:50 PM (GMT)
Yes, I agree with those who said, it was nothing that came over the air. Nothing to fret about. Probably just a Kat fan with no ear for music. (I can't help myself).

The bag thing, just a way to show how far he's come with AI. I got the point. I thought he was treated with respect in the interview otherwise, and there were lots of fans. THe male host (sorry I don't know his name) seemed like he was a very big Elliott fan himself.

Not as bad as today's Fox & Friends, I thought that was atrocious.

I don't think they are very good at their jobs. Apparently there is a script and they can only stick to it.

When E said he was not a bagger, they should have been able to move on.

I would have liked for more of an interview. I think I will E-mail them.

JeannineS - June 2, 2006 03:24 PM (GMT)
Hmm I didn't hear that and I Was there. All the girls who worked for that show were fat and ugly anyway. DON"T WRITE TO THEM GO THERE 133. W 47th street btwn 1 and 2pm and look for her.

What a waste of interview time. Elliott took it in his stride, yet it showed the lack of preparation by someone on staff. These folks are very shallow...all they do is look in a mirror or monitor all day long!!! Martha is a joke as far as PERFORMING the news is concerned. I know because I watch Fox and have an idea of what they perceive the public wants in its way of women on screen. In a word: BLONDE BLONDE BLONDE

Yes, I was annoyed by the grocery bag thing. I couldn't resist sending Dayside an email. Told them that although I enjoyed seeing E, that the grocery segment was ridiculous and that Elliott's fan do not want to see him bagging groceries. I ended it with, "what is wrong with you people?"
