"This is not hometown hype talking here. But our Elliott Yamin, performing on "Live With Regis and Kelly" yesterday, totally outperformed Taylor Hicks, seen earlier on "Today."

Yamin reprised his jazzy "Moody's Mood for Love," looking, as usual, blissful while singing. He also did a brief Q&A with Vince Vaughn, filling in for Regis (and looking like a giant next to Yamin), and Kelly Ripa, who admitted she watched "American Idol" just to see the reactions from Yamin's mom, Claudette.

"Hi, mom. Love you and miss you," Yamin called out to his mother, who is recovering from hip surgery."

I thought Vince was so incredibly cool in the interview and seemed like he was genuinely impressed/blown away... I wish it had been just him and E (Kelly was annoying and irrelevent).

Vince kept saying, or trying to say if Kelly had let him, that Elliott has the voice of an angel. I wish she would have just let him ask Elliott the questions!

I agree that Vince seemed much more 'into' Elliott than whatsername.

Great read! Elliott was wonderful on R&K, naturally. Surprisingly Vince Vaughn turned out to be a great co-host! Kelly on the other hand....nice try?

I really liked this interview/MMFL. Vince Vaughn was hilarious and Kelly Ripa was Kelly Ripa lol.

Yep, Elliott gives it all whether it be singing , hugging, crying , laughing, expressing appreciation , etc. - I just love his intensity and passion for life ! :)

i loved watching Vince and Elliott. E definetly looked tiny standing next to Vince - and Vince definetly seemed to have a lot of respect for him. that rocked.
