We should try and get Elliott listed here:
Lycos top 50 searches

http://50.lycos.com/

This one is bigger than the google.com one and has been around longer. Clay Aiken owned this one after AI2 for a long time.

You just do a Lycos search for Elliott Yamin and then go to any 1 of the numerous links it brings up for Elliott

Please consider doing both lycos and google searches DAILY. It only takes a minute and it will help him get noticed.

I'm on it.

I actually typed in 'Elliott Yamin, Elliot Yamin', since so many people still spell his name wrong.

Is that bad? Will it affect the accuracy negatively or positively? Is it the hits that count or just the search, or both?

I dunno!

I think it would be best to search his name correctly, especially until he makes the top 50 searches. I don't know if Lycos corrects spelling errors in their searches or not.

Thanks for voting though - I recall Aiken getting some press coverage for doing so well at Lycos back after season 2 of AI.

I know that google works with marketing agencies and offers them detailed reports on thier search histories regularly. I doubt the public has access to this info, but in my marketing class we did various case studies on google and thier effect on the market place.

Also, It would be better to click on an advertisers link (the onea at the very top and side columns) because google profits from this and thus reports to marketers which searches will be the most profitable.

The lycos search seems to be in the eyes of the public more, but marketing companies-such as the ones employed by the big record industries-actually pay for the data google provides.

Bottom line: search on both! and do everything you can to support the man! :worship:

Wow, this sounds pretty cool. Well, if record producers are going to look at these numbers, why not go to searching.

Thank you for posting the link. I really only search on Google, but hey, yet another place.
