Okay, ya'll know this movie is coming out on Tuesday. :yuck:
First of all, why are they remaking this movie? Honestly, I don't understand why they are remaking all the horror flicks from the 70's and early 80's. It's ridiculous. All they do is make them gross with all the unnecessary blood and guts (sorry for the crude terms).
Second of all, why are people freaking out about it being released on that day? As if the sky is going to fall in, or Jesus will come back, or something else like Armageddon will happen. Yeah, 666 is supposed to be the mark of the beast, but people have made a date to be something that it's not. It sort of reminds me of when 2000 came and everybody was stocking up on bottled waters and what-not...then...NOTHING happened. I wonder what people are going down into bomb shelter to avoid the "coming of the end" on Tuesday... :rolleyes:

Don't remember much about the original, but I'm sure the new one ends the same as the original...plenty of room for part 2....& 3...& 4! :P

I don't know why they are remaking The Omen either.. the movie sucked some big hairy ones.

I don't mind blood and gore...don't mind it at all in horror flicks, but they could've at least come up with something original for the date. Or at least remade a movie wortha damn. :rolleyes:

LOL...no, not amazing at all...just irritating.
It's not that I hate on the "blood and guts" part...it's blood and guts with no plot that I hate. At least the older ones (yes, even if they were cheesy) had some type of plot and the suspense (insert scary movie music here) was more realistic. On the remakes (eg. Amityville Horror and the Exorcist) all they have is blood and guts....the plot is lost, and you have a bunch of idiots running away from a superridiculous villain.
Plus, who is really going to go see a movie on Tuesday besides cheap folks like me!? hehe...(yes, I do hit up the matinees during the week! I'm a broke graduate student...what more do you want!? :rotfl: )

I thought the original movie was all right, personally I don't relate much to movies that are all "OMG IT'S THE DEVIL, THE DEVILLLLLL" because I think images of the devil in pop culture are kinda funny.

The upcoming 6-6-06 date is just a dumb excuse to make money off the franchise. I feel really sorry for a coworker of mine, she is pretty religious and her birthday happens to be on that day...

I hope it doesn't suck! I recently saw the original Omen and I loved it...I hope the remake does some justice

I hear the remake is EXACTLY the same but with new actors.. Haven't seen it of course, so I don't know for sure, but the trailor sure made it look like that...

It probably won't be to good, but I'll still take a look at it. Who knows, I might be pleasently suprised.

Yeah, I actually liked the first one (it wasn't scary to me though, just weird...). I have older cousins who grew up on those horror flicks (Exorcist, Amityville Horror, The Omen, etc.) and so we were "forced" to watch with them when I was younger...hehe... :P

Hmm, probably thats why they had a special about satanists on the Discovery Channel.

The Church of Satan had a big festival (or something like that) yesterday in Hell, Michigan. *shudders* But, the date is insignificant apart from reminding us of the true meaning of the number. People can get a little too excited about certain things... :blink:

I really enjoy scary movies. I did see the original Omen a long time ago and thought it was ok. I hope this re-make does the original at least some justice.
