TMZ is usually right I think - if a "powehouse" management company wants him as their client - that can only mean they expect big things from him! What a day of good news!

I'm confused....this doesn't sound like good news to me. It says that Elliott got tickets, not that he's recieved a record deal. I must be missing something.

I think because that means they are interested. A record company does not do that for someone they are not interested in.

The Firm is the management company that Kelly Clarkson & Clay left 19 for. And we all know how much they blew up after that. For god's sake, Kelly's new album sold 5X more than her first one, and she's got numerous endorsement deals, including the new multimillion dollar one with Ford!

So that would explain why Elliott's in TVGuide, and his little blurb in People, when there's been very little print media attention on Taylor or Kat. They're already doing their job. ;)

I'm still kind of on the fence about this. Maybe I just can't read between the lines. Does this mean that "The Firm" is potentially interested in signing Elliott? They have to be if they gave Elliott those tickets right?

The Firm, eh? I guess we can only wait to see what unfolds! I don't see how he was flown to Vegas though if he was in NYC a few days ago and now is apparently back in Richmond though...

If it's true it means they are interested in signing him to their management company. It's not a record comany. They would be managing his career. I hope it's true but TMZ isn't known for having factual information.

a company as well established and successful as The Firm wouldn't sign Elliott without a record deal. if he didn't have one, what's the point in spending time & money promoting him? i'm almost willing to bet that E does have a record deal, it just can't be inked or publicized yet due to contractual obligations. :D

Very promising!! Hope they DO pick up Elliott as a client. As previously mentioned, they've caused Kelly's marketability to BOOM & Clay will be releasing a new album this summer...can't wait to see what they do with him on that front. Really exciting to be an Elliott fan....hell, it's exciting to be Elliott w/ all the possibilities before him!! :woohoo:

I wonder if his little jaunt to Las Vegas was his "prior engagment" for missing the ET taping.

It's definitely good news to hear that big companies are showing some interest in him. He's obviousy well liked, it would be pretty stupid to pass him up.

I hope that TMZ is reliable with it's info. The Firm courting Elliott would be huge if it were to all work out. Maybe they are the "team of people" Elliott refered to in a recent interview.
I wonder though how could Elliott be in both NY and Vegas at the same time?
I guess time will tell. For now we'll have to rely on rumors and hope for the best because Elliott is under contract to keep quiet. Can't wait till September when we can hear whats really going on.

OK - I guess I'll have to cave to the fact that Elliott maybe "manipulated the truth" about why he missed ET. :D Actually on the radio interview he did say he was out all night, and with my cousin, and both of those things could be true.....

Claudette was also scheduled for surgery. Any number of excuses for missing ET.

well my take on it is that the article was posted this morning on TMZ, which probably meant it was written on Sunday? If so- last weekend would have meant the weekend prior- and based on the Prince & Madonna concerts- that would fall into the correct timeline.

of course we'll have to wait and see- but either way I think this is positive news.

don't know about TMZ... but I always feel that there is always some truth to rumors... either way, people have been "planting" tidbits about E all over recently... so something is probably going on.

I hope this only means good things for Elliott! I think its safe to say that we all wish him the greatest success in the world! :)

The Firm is not a record company. It's a management company. They will help to GET Elliott a record deal if he doesn't have one already. Yes, they have high profile clients from AI: Kelly Clarkson and they used to have Clay Aiken (he left when his manager from The Firm left). Notice, though, that their clients have been most successful in general and have also managed to "escape" AI. This is a good sign. The Firm doesn't sign or want to sign anyone. There must be considerable interest going on for them to want Elliott.

So is RCA music group, who reportedly is signing Chris and Kat, a part of Clive ensemble?

yes, RCA is owned by BMG/Sony- the larger company that Clive is with.

Does anyone else here feel like things are coming together, somewhat as predicted or mentioned by the media or supposedly connected posters? Yes, there is a coincidence that Elliott missed ET and could have been in LV, duet w/ Mary J Blige, his mentions of working on establishing a team and recording after the tour....I'm not sure Mary J Blige or Prince would have appeared in the finale w/o some powerful strings being pulled, or that he would have been excused from the ET spot w/o some connections.

I agree, the fact that things are hush, hush is probably a good sign that there re some good people behind him right now.

Maybe I'm just being really optimistic here because I want him to get what he wants and deserves (plus I want some really good Elliott Yamin CDs to listen to in the future).

So far today, there's a 2 page article about JUST E in this weeks TV Guide, the story about the Firm, a mention in People magazine linking his name with "A" List celebrities sighted out and about town and MMFL debuted on Billboard's Pop chart at #73.

This is all too exciting...I have the biggest grin on my face....I love this infor..

Love these news "reports" about Elliott. Am trusting that there are BIG plans ahead for our guy!
