I have to say, my first exposure to Will Young was when he did the duet with Kelly Clarkson during the season 1 finale. I thought it was horrible, lol. But I saw him when they did the World Idol thing, and was super impressed! After that I researched him and downloaded some songs - what a beautiful voice! I bought 2 of his albums on ebay from Japan because they weren't available in the US at that time. I have to say, his original songs are SO much better than anything I've heard churned out from anyone on American Idol. He's also a great artist. Have any of you heard his take on Hey Ya, or another Donny Hathaway song called "I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know"? {sigh} gorgeous. He's definitely another funky white boy, but in a totally different way than Elliott.
It's really a shame that he can't (or won't, i don't know) break into the American music scene. I saw some people on here comment that his work is a little too "sophisticated" for American pop music...and I think that's true. The same is true for Robbie Williams. British pop is just so far superior to American pop. Anyway, his fan base around the world, except for the US is pretty amazing. He's got legions of girls drooling over his every move, and the man is gay, lol.
Anyone else like Will? :D

I've only heard him sing two songs. One was "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" with Kelly Clarkson. The other was "Fields of Gold" at the same event. He sounded beautiful!!! He has an amazing voice.

oh yeah i totally loved him. season 1 of american idol he did that song "sweetest feeling" and ever since then i was hooked. i downloaded some of his songs and he has a very beautiful and unique voice. he's also such a cutie pie! :wub:

I'm a big fan of Will. I absolutely loved Friday's Child. And his take on Hey Ya, I thought was better than the original. The original is fun but his version is oddly passionate. I love it.

have you guys heard his version of "Your Love is King"? I think it's a Sade song. It's the song at the end of Bridget Jones Diary 2. It is sooooooooo beautiful!
he also has a new album out. i haven't heard all of it, but there's one track i adore - it's called Who Am I. Great beat, but it's a slow song. The first single is called Switch it On. It's ok...nothing spectacular, but very fast & catchy. Almost techno. Check out his site. :)

I really like Will Young too, and have got all 3 of his albums. I'm going to see him in concert in September :)

I looooovvveee Will Young. Have been a fan since he was first on "pop idol".
His duet with Kelly on AI was not so great, but now he is amazing.
Always, always sings live - never seen him lip synch. And is always spot on every time.
Has a unique take on established songs and his original stuff is fantastic.

In fact one of the things I love about Elliott is that he kind of reminds me of Will.
Similar style of music, similar style of dressing, similar sense of humour.
