Yesterday at a fast food restuarant, my boyfriend Scott ordered some stuff and the total came to $5.05. We gave the girl behind the counter $20, she punched it in, and then I gave her a nickel. So she gives us back $14.90. instead of the flat $15. And we argued for 5 minutes about it. She had to get help from her manager who was so busy it looked like she was doing the job of 3 people. Scott is a smart-ass but I am glad he held back, because he was about to tell her "I program missiles for a living, don't challenge me." (Which he in fact does.) After the manager explained it to her, she still didn't understand, and kept insisting she was right!
No offense to anyone here who works in fast food , I just thought it was amusing.
:rotfl: I worked at McDonald's for one summer during undergrad. So, no, I'm not offended at all...hehe..(but trust me, I will never work in a place like that again unless I'm homeless! slave job in my opinion...)
It's crazy that people don't understand stuff like this...it just doesn't happen in fast food restaurants, but also in any type of stores (esp. Wal-Mart!)
One of my profs told us a joke about it in class, and said he was worried about our society in general! The girl/guy had told his wife when she gave change like you did "Sorry, I'm not that good with math"
I don't argue with anyone who handles my food.
In restraunts... if the waitress/waiter got something on my order that was wrong.. like say.. a steak that's undercooked... I don't argue. I just get a doggy bag, take it home and pop it into the microwave heh.
So 10cents... or spit or any other nastiness in your food... they can keep the freaking dime :P

oh believe me, we know better than to argue in restuarants. but the girl wasn't the one making the food, ours was already made just waiting to be bagged. and the 10cents was becoming funnier with each second -- guess you had to be there!
