Some of you have posted that Elliott is mentioned on the Geffen Records website and also the Mary J. Blige website. Well I just received the Mary J. Blige e-newsletter, and it also mentions Elliott as follows:
Mary Tears Down the House with Surprise Performance on American Idol
Last week ( May 24) Mary surprised millions of American Idol fans when she performed her version of the U2 classic “One” with American Idol finalist Elliot Yamin.

I got the same newsletter and didn't think in those terms. You are right, for all those pure MJB fans, some more advertisement to Elliott.
Actually it was E that turned me on to MJB. Yeah I live a sheltered life.

Haha you are like me...I just ordered my first M. J. Blige CD because of Elliott. But certainly it goes both ways,some MJB fans will discover E. M. J.'s publicists would not have mentioned Elliott (twice) if they did not think it would be good for M.J. as well.

As a long time Mary J. Blige fan... I can tell you that her fans are extremely faithful... her latest album is past platinum now... so I think if people start hearing about her dueting w/E (folks that don't watch AI) they'll definitely start looking for music by him... I had one friend email me and ask me who this Yamin guy was... I responded by saying "the best singer in the history of AI" !! lol

This is great news. I really hope this causes some Mary fans to discover Elliott. :)
Mary, by the way, is one of my personal heroes. Her song "No More Drama" is my anthem. :rocker:

thanks for sharing. See, this is just the best possible thing that can happen from that duet with MJ. Her fans check out Elliott,and once they hear him they'll be hooked,then will pass on the news to their friends.I'm listening to the duet right now.Soooo good! :D :cheerleader:
