Title: Going Alone?
Description: Anyone going alone to an AI concert?

So I hesitated way too long to get group tickets, and now I can only find solo tickets to the AI Live concert...I was just wondering, is anyone else going alone or has anyone gone alone to a concert before? I feel kind of silly going by myself but I really want to see Elliott perform... I'm torn at the moment!!

I know what you mean. I actually didn't wait too long to purchase tickets (later that night of the first sale), but all I could get were the nosebleed section. I had planned on taking my two nieces but couldn't get tickets together. I had posted on the Idol board that I was very annoyed at Ticketmaster because I had requested wheelchair accesible seats. I don't use a wheelchair, but I walk with a cane and there was no way I could walk all the way up to the third section. There is no handrail to grasp onto.
Anyway, I went straight to the venue itself and got one ticket. It's not that great--2nd level, but at least I don't have to walk up or down. You just walk straight in. I hope I will be able to see.
In answer to your query--don't feel funny about going solo. I am sure you will have a great time. People tend to be friendlier when they are having a good time.
I just wanted to vent about my experience with Ticketmaster because I got no satisfaction from them at all. You would think they would be more accomodating to their disabled clientele. I personally don't go to any concerts but I buy a lot of tickets from them for my two sons. They won't be getting my business any time soon.

don't stress it too much! my bf and i went last year and everyone around us was completely cool! we were bo fans sitting amongst a group of constantine obsessors, but they were great and it ended up being so much fun. you'll prolly be around some very cool people and you'll get to see E so score!

Thanks everyone... :) I'm just so sad... I was going to drag my boyfriend so he could experience the magic of E! :D

If you are havng trouble getting tickets I suggest you consider waiting until closer to the concert date. The venues usually hold tickets back for radio and VIP people and such, then put the extras for sale a couple of weeks or days before the actual concert.
Example: Last year a U2 concert sold out here. You could not get tickets. Then, the day before the concert, my mom looked on Ticketmaster and found really good seats!
This does not work everytime though. I have been to several concerts in my lifetime and I'd say it only works about half the time. But it *might* be worth a shot.
Usually I buy 1 ticket just in case they don't put more up, and then end up buying more when they put them up! :P

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm going to try that... I'm going in Uniondale, NY because Philly was just a little too overwhelming... I wish I could meet E but oh well :)

I have never, ever gone to a concert by myself. However, if I can manage to get a good seat in Richmond where I can actually hear (I wear aids in both ears), I WILL most certainly go alone, and have a wonderful time, too! I soo much want to see and hear Elliott in concert.

i'm going alone ... none of my friends are into American Idol. but it's cool, i'm really used to doing stuff alone, and i've been to a lot of concerts alone.

Yeah it's looking like I will be going alone... I'm coming to terms with it lol :)
Does anyone know how to meet the Idols? Actually I really only want to meet E

I'm going to two of the concerts, but I'm going alone to one of them. I knew my friends, who aren't huge Elliott fans like me, wouldn't pay what I was willing to pay for good seats so I bought one for myself. It's in a city that's 3 hours from where I live but I thought I'd just spend the night at a hotel there so I could stick around and maybe get an autograph or an Elliott siting. I'm sure it probably would have been more fun to go with someone but since that isn't going to happen, I'll make sure I have a good time by myself.

Last year people would wait by the tour busses after the show.. Everybody said you they just waited about an hour and then the Idols would come out and sign autogrpahs and such. Not EVERY Idol came out EVERY night, but there were a few regulars....I imagine E will be a regular this year!
I never got to experience that last year though because I was in L.A... In L.A. they have a big party they go to after wtih everybody who was involved with AI...
